It will be interesting to see how he handles things from this side of the table again. With Street already off the table Detroits options are waning, and they need someone.
They have too many OFers so I seriously start out with asking for JD Martinez. I don't care how important he might seem to them. They need a RP bad.

Colby needs be quiet. Rasmus did nothing wrong. Baseball etiquette? Give me a break.

And it is real hard to give JPA a hard time about any shortcomings at first. The guy has been playing a very short time at that position. We seem to of had a few of those guys.

I said as much earlier, but footwork on the base should be one of the first thing he learns about the position. I was a 1B/OF so I guess it just kind of irks me.

He's batting .261. He had 2 hits tonight. Maybe he'll continue to hit tomorrow. I would sit Choo and let Adduci and Robertson platoon the OF while giving Adduci some time at 1B.

I just looked and saw that he went 2-5 with 3 K's.

Fans booing him and announcers agreed that they cannot stand pat and do nothing in regards to a closer.
Don't think there is anything in their farm system. Could be wrong. Need to hold out till the 31st anyway.

Agreed. Like I said, we've been on the other end of the bargaining table and had to give up too much for guys like Uehara, Adams, and Garza. No reason to think Detroit wouldn't overpay for someone with Soria's abilities.

He did only allow 2 runs in 5 innings. What else do you want from a number 5?

I gotta believe the playoff contenders
are already asking about him. He's has the
lowest ERA of any active starting pitcher
and is 16th all time on the list for pitchers
with at least 6 starts.

His ERA is high now but the playoffs
are a different animal and he's shown
he can handle it.

He throws too many hittable strikes to be appealing to anyone but hitters right now. It's sad to watch him struggle.

That's not the Colby that takes the mound for us now.

Sorry, but it's not 2011 anymore. Nobody is asking about him right now.

Probably not now but if he pitches better
in the next 6 weeks I can see a contender
trying to pick him up on waivers by August
31st.

Sure he will finish the season with us. We are pitching limited. And he will become a free agent at seasons end.

He will likely retire I'm thinking, just walk off into the sunset and be remembered by me as the first ever Rangers pitcher to win a WS game. One of my best memories being at that game with my wife and son. Wish the best for him but his baseball career has likely run it's course due to the injuries it has been nearly derailed a few times now. Think this year could be it for him

But his velocity, strikeout, walk and home run ratio
are pretty much in line with what he has done
before. It's the incredible amount of
hits he's given up this season that has led to the high
ERA. This seems like a location problem which
should be correctable.
His career regular season ERA is near 5. Playoffs 2.22

Should be Murph. Don't ruin that new hip of his by hanging on. Good playoff pitcher for us for sure. Harrison may end up the same way. I'm sure he'll give it his best. But I'm not really looking forward to his return if you know what I mean.

Colby would make a good pitching coach to some high school/college/pros.

Teams aren't looking for something to fix for the playoffs.

Matt should probably just enjoy remembering his accomplishments in baseball and not have to deal with the disappointment of not being able to get back to his previous form. The odds are stacked very heavily against him and I am all for some guys trying to make the "comeback", however in his case I think his body has endured enough. His mind has to have as well.

To stop bitching

Oh, and also to not have an above 5 ERA... AND THEN bitch. at least make games competitive and complain so people want to take your side. When you suck horribly like he's been doing, no one cares for him, and most people just want him to shut his mouth cuz its embarrassing
