you know i was a little bothered when the Rangers let Nathan walk away but after watching him try to give another game away i'm glad to we did not waste the spot and the money

I just watched the 9th of the Oak/DET game. Good lord Joe. 25 pitches and Oak left 2 runners on, with the go-ahead run at 1st. He came in with a 5-2 lead, and Donaldson promptly greeted him with a 1st pitch double.


He's already blown 4 this year, 1 more than all of last year. That's what I hated about Joe, even when he got the save he made it too exciting.

I wonder what the deal is with Nathan, I still love Joe, age finally catching up?...maybe that slider isn't working.
I didn't like it, but JD made the right call...it's a lot of money to gamble on someone who's "old"


anyway, bout time Tigers.
if you would have told me we'd only be 4 games back, I wouldn't have believed it.
I still don't think we have a chance at the division, but I would like to at least catch the Angels.
2nd in the division with all these players down...and we STILL finish ahead of them. I can live with that.

I am a big Odor fan but I was really irritated with his first 3 at bats. He gets impatient. I will be ecstatic the next time he actually draws a walk. But he is very young and so is Sardinas and I like what I am seeing overall.

Nathan has been stinking it up for sure. I think this team won't have that problem when Scheppers comes back to do the 8th inning. Soria, Frasor, and Tolleson have been solid tho. The bullpen could use a shot in the arm from Ross and Scheppers.

I have nothing but admiration and respect for Joe Nathan has accomplished in his career. But I was glad we let him go, and happy for him due to the contract dollars he got.
