Big Time! I really think his biggest problem is pattering his game in the field after Beltre. That's the kick in the ass for me. Elvis defensively has been huge disappointment. Offensively not so much

His defense has been underwhelming for the most part and I also like him batting down in the order. Had a bad series offensively in Boston (most of the team did) but has had 2 hits in 3 of the last 4 games.

Rua wasn't doing much before he got hurt, and once healed I'm not sure that he brings anything to table better than what they're running out there right now.

I would assume the decision would be made after a rehab assignment

That may be a good question but even in April his ERA was 5 and when he was able to get out of an inning most of the time it was not easy. I just do not have confidence in him as a pitcher.

It was a whopping 18 PA's, and he was hitting .235 so he had some hits. Saying he wasn't doing anything after playing only 5 games is kind of missing the forest for the trees, don't ya think?

Ya know, I'm not convinced that the overall talent level isn't better in AA. Yes, guys are more polished in AAA, but so many times you hear of prospect pitchers getting the call from AA. I'm not sure the difference is that huge.

Without getting into whether he should be traded or not has Fielder become tradeable again? If he keeps this kind of production up or something similar throughout this season will his contract be tradeable after this season?

Maybe answer this, what kind of contract in $ and years do you think he would command if he was a FA at the end of the season and he kept up similar production to what he has? Obviously he will have ups and downs the rest of the way, and won't hit .365 probably but I would bet he could get an offer that's pretty competitive in big contract talks
