I wonder how much salary the Rangers can take on?

The Rangers have some top 20 prospects that I want to hold onto, but many in the top 20 should be available to trade.

I would like to hold onto:

Walcott
Foscue
Rocker
Leiter
Rosario
Corniell
Santana
Teodo
Santos
Bratt

Outside of the top 20 I want to hold onto:

Acker
Tiger
Drake
Hales
Guerrero

I am not including any newly drafted guys because they can't be traded yet, anyway.

Rangers rumored to be pursuing Yandy Diaz. wonder what it would take to get him?

Don't need another RHed infielder not with the OF not performing very well, I would rather they get a RHed OF (that makes more sense). I like the Rooker rumor much, much better cause he hits both RH and LHed pitching pretty well... :thumb:

The Rangers could sell on a limited basis while still being buyers. There is a chance Taveras gets traded. I guess one of our starting pitchers could be traded as well. I wonder if they would be so bold as to trade Lowe and make a separate trade for another 1B.

Isn't Rooker mainly a DH at this point. I think he has only started 13 games in the OF this year.

Well, this changes my thoughts about our outfield/DH. This is from Shawn McFarland:

Bruce Bochy said that Evan Carter is seeing a back specialist in California for a checkup. He’s effectively shut down until they get a report back.

“He’s just not quite coming along like we were hoping,” Bochy said.

From Jon Morosi:

Jack Flaherty has been the subject of trade dialogue between the Tigers and Astros, sources say.

I wouldn't be too worried about it considering the A's have a decent set of OFers and he played about 60 games out there last year. The big thing they need is his bat which means they'll find a spot for him, a better version of Robbie Grossman if you will...

Also from Jon Morosi:

Erick Fedde is another starter the Astros are actively considering; he is a stronger candidate for the White Sox to move if Garrett Crochet is not dealt.

Yeah, even if he stays at DH, we could use another bat with Carter out indefinitely. I just don't imagine the Rangers would want to pay the price for him. Jamey Newberg had this to say about him yesterday:

"I’m not against the idea — Rooker has an identical .948 OPS against both lefthanders and righties this year and he’s controllable through 2027 — but he’ll be 30 this winter, strikes out every third trip, and is more of a DH than an outfielder at this point (not unlike Robbie Grossman in that respect). That could gum things up moving forward, as I wonder if Adolis Garcia is headed toward that same category. Would I part with something like outfielder Alejandro Osuna and righthander Owen White to get Rooker? Sure, but I expect the A’s will want (and get) more."

Grossman for Smith #3 hole. INSANE
Agree but at least Grossman is 3-8 with a HR against Kikuchi.
First 3 batters for Toronto have hit Heaney so he better be careful with them.

I guess we'll find out in a few days...

Brice Paterik offered up the names of Leiter, Foscue, Vargas and Stephan for Rooker. Not all of them together though.

Heim just tied it up with a 2 run single. Springer made a great catch on a drive by Langford, or they would have more. 3-3 now.
