From Jared Sandler:

HISTORY!

The Rangers win back-to-back games 1-0 for the first time in franchise history!

(They’ve actually done it back-to-back days before because of a doubleheader in 1962 as the Senators BUT the second game of the DH wasn’t 1-0)

From Texas Rangers PR:

The Rangers' victories on Tuesday and Wednesday in Cincinnati marked the first back-to-back 1-0 wins in Washington/Texas franchise history (beg. 1961). Since the start of 2019, the only other MLB club with consecutive 1-0 wins was the 2023 Brewers (7/9-14/23).

It had been nearly 20 years since an American League team won back-to-back 1-0 games. Last instance: 2006 Red Sox (7/18-19/06 vs. KC). No A.L. team had won consecutive 1-0 games on the road since the 1991 Blue Jays (6/12-13/91 at CLE). @EliasSports

Leiter just looked like he was very much in sync. He had a number of very close pitches that were called balls so he never showed any wildness.

Brock Burke was lit up today. We will be alone in 1st today. Hope Mahle gets it together on Friday. Heard Tampa Bay has the top ERA. Bottom in terms of team salary but always competitive with good pitching.

This team will start scoring soon. Need Jung back in lineup. Lots of good hitters, they will jell soon.
And the pitching can’t stay this good all season, so it’s good to be multi-dementional for a change.
We gotta trust CY and Boche. These guys have skins on the wall.

We can't expect our pitchers to continue like Eovaldi and Lieter has without offensive production. Both 1-0 wins could easly have been lost. Lucky they were not based on lack of offense.

From Evan Grant about Leiter's blister:

The Rangers are optimistic he’ll be ready to go for his next scheduled start, next Tuesday at the Chicago Cubs. It’s all a matter of how fast the tender area toughens up.

“He could have gone back out, but then we were asking for trouble,” Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said. “I think he’s going to be fine. He skipped his bullpen after his last start there and he gets an extra day off, so that’s going to help. We’ll check him out in the next few days.”

Crim was a double shirt of a cycle tonight. His HR was a 3 run walkoff.

His slash line is 400/.455/.700/1.155

He would have been a cheaper DH than Pederson and we could have afforded a closer instead. Lol

From Tepid:

Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but Blaine Crim is once again bludgeoning minor league pitchers.

I am surprised that Crim does not try to prove himself in Japan. Might make some money there too

I wonder what would have to happen for him to get a shot this year. It would probably take an injury to either Burger or Pederson and for Him to be hitting substantially better than Foscue at the same time.

I wonder what's going to happen with him. His situation seems so uncertain and wavering at the moment. Became a huge supporter of Evan. Having the Carter of 2 years ago could be the difference of beating the Dodgers in the W.S.

Maybe they should send Carter back to Frisco and let him work his way back up.

I also wonder if he might benefit by taking a few days off. He worked hard all winter to recover and then they worked him into games in the backfields in ST to get him extra at bats. Maybe he needs a break.

I am concerned with Evan Carter health and timidity

Bad breaks similar to Profar

What a pleasant surprise Leiter progress has been. More what we expected when we drafted him

This really helps immensely if he has figured it out. I think with Eovaldi Degrom and refined Leiter that's a formidable trio if we can get to the postseason.
Maybe 4th starter is Bradford or Gray. Mahle could be a dark horse. I don't see Rocker being a starter in the post season this year but who knows. Love his upside
