Thoughts on move
A 40 man move now needed - guessing we keep Haggerty and lose Pillar

Hoping Osuna plays CF and Haggerty gets to spell other players and use DH as 1/2 day off

Love the bat to ball skills of Osuna
Fits the mold of a contact hitter and plays with excitement and zes

Other move could be to start the waiver game with M Helman who they picked up after dropping Ornelas. This could easily happen
Besides Carter Pillar is still best CF defensively but they are not using him and he has not been hitting well

Osuna should start most games. Bochy better not pull another Bochy.
I really hope that happens. They just keep playing him. It's rough if you play just once in a while as it has to put pressure on a player trying to impress in an audition type situation.

moves confirmed but the logic of putting Pederson on the 10-day when he will be down a minimum of 6 weeks and more likely 8 to 10 is confusing. i would have put him on the 60-day immediately.

and with these moves we're still 1 short on the active roster

Can Garcia play left field? the Padres are looking for a left fielder and if we throw in 2.5 to 3 million maybe they'll take him

From Jamey Newberg:

  • In Kiley McDaniel’s updated Top 50 prospects list for ESPN, Frisco SS Sebastian Walcott is the No. 4 prospect in baseball (“has gone from a long shot shortstop to now looking like an average long-term defender at the position . . . with a shot to one day hit 40 homers”).
  • This was interesting: in a story misleadingly titled “Five intriguing prospects from the AL West, one from each team,” Jim Callis and Sam Dykstra (MLB Pipeline) answered the charge but Callis wasn’t satisfied. After identifying Frisco LHP Kohl Drake (“I’ve got a 2026 ETA on him, and I’d still stick with that, but if he keeps this up, it’s not out of the question that he could force his way to Texas by the end of the year if they need pitching or they need a lefty”), Callis wrote up two “bonus” entries for Texas — and no other team had any: ACL IF Devin Fitz-Gerald (“Everybody I talk to in the Rangers system just loves Fitz-Gerald’s makeup and the high baseball IQ he brings to the park”) and High-A Hub City RHP David Davalillo (noting a splitter that opponents swung through 58 percent of the time in 2024 — and it’s up to 65 percent this season), who on Friday headlined the first gamer I couldn’t bear to devote to the big club.

The 26 man roster has been updated and we are one man short. That is an odd decision. Why go a man short when you do not have to?

Yeah, it is the first thing i asked when the PR came out, because i mentioned doing just that last night in order to bring up a second player. And not a single member of our local media has brought it up.. it is really odd.

Skubal pitched a complete game, and his final pitch was 102.6 mph.

I guess they now expect Seager to be back tomorrow and decided to go short a roster spot for 1 day instead of bringing a guy up for only 1 day. They had been saying he would be up later in the week.

and not one of them has explained why the Pangers are putting Pederson on the 10-day IL when he will be down at a minimum 6 weeks and probably at least 8 to 10

I think that is because they expect it to only be 6 weeks. That, and they had a convenient guy to DFA in Pillar since Haggerty has made him not needed.
