It is my opinion that we need plenty of those “cheap low risk” vets to give the kids on the farm time to develop. The worst thing you can do is bring a guy up too early in my opinion.

Luke Jackson flamed out in AAA. He wasn't rushed at all. He was just a dud as a starter.

To me, the only really good pitching prospect that we have rushed in the last 10 years or so was Feliz. Even with him, if you viewed him as needing to.just be a reliever, then he actually wasn't rushed. If you viewed him as a potentially very good starter, like I did, then he was rushed.

Holland was rushed. The dude stunk it up for a year or two, got sent back down to learn how to pitch to major league hitters, and came back up.
