Guess it was too rich for JD
I think more than anything it really does underscore just how much JD was telling the truth when he said the main priority was acquiring pitching. Although I did want Lucroy, I suppose that is the smart route to take based on team needs. I do hope, though, that they see if they can pry either Bruce or Beltran loose for spare change.

I still maintain that I don't want Norris or Suzuki.

The lead is swelling back up and they're about to get some reinforcements via trade. It's crazy how fast things can turn around / change in this game.
Yes the worm has turned. Hope we keep the momentum into Baltimore.

FYI Cubs and Tigers throwing out scrub starters tomorrow.

Im have no real interest in Suzuki or Norris. Bruce or Beltran would be good on a cheap deal IMO

The Tigers have done enough. We have gained 2 and a half games on the Astros the past 3 days. Totally awesome.

It also helps that Tillman is pitching tomorrow for the Orioles, that guy is on my fantasy team and he usually kicks ass. The Rangers won't see him in Baltimore.

Wow! The Brewers are getting 4 players for just Lucroy! At least one of them is a top 100 player while one is a lesser prospect. No names mentioned yet.

I wanted Lucroy, but now seeing the price for just him alone, I'm glad JD walked away.

4 for 1 it appears

The Brewers will get a fourth player as well, per Rosenthal, though the fourth prospect is of lesser quality. The trade will be four players going to Milwaukee in exchange for Lucroy. No others will be going to Cleveland, despite previous rumors of the Indians’ interest in Milwaukee’s relief corps.

Can we just play KC every time the rest of the way in
The teams that killed us over the past month were teams patient at the plate. They made our pitchers pitch. The Royals like to swing. I think Baltimore is the same.

Then we are head to head with the Stros.

Great job tonight by Perez.

And I'm going to cut Gallo some slack. Guy finally gets the call to the bigs, knows he's trade bait with the deadline looming just days away, and doesn't even know what uniform he'll be wearing come August 1st.

Hit great at Round Rock and now very clearly pressing. If he is still a Ranger when Texas hits the road next week I suspect he will settle down a bit and start having some success.

I just watched the Mitch Bomb. Not sure if I'm more impressed with the speed or the height.

It was damn impressive, even if it hadn't been a walk off

I'd add the sound off the bat as the 3rd impressive factor.

I don't know if there's a correlation with the recent bruhaha over Darvish's perceived lack of interest in the "team," but tonight he looked more jubilant than usual.

I don't know if I'd classify the Twins and the Angels as patient hitting teams.

Martin Perez looks and sounds pissed off in every interview he ever does. Smile, man.

Do you still think the Astros will be in first place soon?

No correlation. Just a poor media assessment. He was flipping ball caps off. Enjoying the walkoff with the sellout crowd.

I posted a picture of him looking very jubilant after a victory a few days ago. That talk from some in the media is a load of garbage.

Was it just me, or was that weird squirrelly guy with the bow tie holding Mike Young's plaque more than just a little creepy? He looked like he was about to burst into tears the whole time.
