Is Perez a victim of the WBC? More fatigued due to the extra work? I think being skipped and then brought back as the 4th or 5th starter after the break might help him. If that doesn't work and he isn't injured, it might then be time to move him to the pen.

Whatever the root issue is, its definitely affected Perez in facing LHBs, his career OPS versus LHBs is .648, this year its .876 (RHBs .798/.801)... Last year was .556 (L) and .664 (R)

From Scott Lucas today:

Owen White rebounded from last week's rough start in Vegas. As has usually been the case in 2023, he wasn't overpowering but still quite effective, getting a bunch of catchable flies and tallying five innings on just 60 pitches.

I mentioned that Dane Acker had a travel buddy on his trip from Hickory to Frisco. Josh Stephan made his AA debut, pitching well through one out in the 5th, when he was abruptly pulled after fielding a squibber and throwing to first. My understanding is that he should be fine.

In his last five appearances covering 4.2 innings, Antoine Kelley has nine strikeouts and no walks. He has always missed bats, but finding the plate consistently is another story. Texas received him and now-departed IF Mark Mathias last summer for reliever Mat Bush, who Milwaukee recently released.

Bochy thought that about the WBC and giving him a reset. Bradford is going to get some spot starts

Before today's game this was Semien's slash line over his last 192 plate appearances. He might want to play every day, but his numbers suggest that he should rest a little more often.

Only 1 of those 11 in June were in the first five games. The sixth game started a run where it occurred 10 times in 27 games. That sixth game was when Bochy sat hot hitters to rest up for the series with the Rays.
