We're going to finish last in the ALW? WTF is this all about?

Fangraphs is irrelevant. They are good at math and bad at baseball.

I have very little faith in these algorithms ability to predict future performance.
A whole lot of nothing
If he can limit his problems to about one strike out a game dude will be an All Star.
A few teams get guys elected that don't deserve to start or even play. The Rangers usually have players go that deserve to go though. I think most of the time when Rangers' players go it is because they are among the best. This is one phrase that I dont get anymore.... the All Star vote is more of a popularity contest than skill based. I wish it meant what it should mean though...(best of the best)
I agree but who decides who is the best of the best? This is one phrase that I dont get anymore.... the All Star vote is more of a popularity contest than skill based. I wish it meant what it should mean though...(best of the best)

I mean all star level production. That's like 4-5 fWAR a year. This is one phrase that I dont get anymore.... the All Star vote is more of a popularity contest than skill based. I wish it meant what it should mean though...(best of the best)
I put my 2 cents in. lolI thought XXsrs all star comment might stir up a nice debate like last night. Guess not.
Rev made a valid comment. Fan voting is a crazy way to select all stars. What is the best way?I put my 2 cents in. lol
I don't mind the fans voting for the starters. After the other players are picked the teams actually have most of the best players on the team. The only thing that gets in the way of having the best of the pitchers in the game is when the pitcher is scheduled to pitch just before the break. There are legitimate problems with some of the starters that are voted in, but they usually don't play long anyway.Rev made a valid comment. Fan voting is a crazy way to select all stars. I've always thought as a whole fans vote for who is popular. Example, Hamilton is still popular and all star caliber player to many thus not making sense today. On the other hand Beltre is a fan's choice making sense. Never been totally happy stuffing voter boxes.I don't mind the fans voting for the starters.
