Sources: #Rangers and #Phillies having ongoing dialogue about Cole Hamels, and he is willing to waive no-trade to Texas. @FOXSports

Hamels is a very good pitcher obviously, but the Phillies are gonna want way too much for my liking. Why is he willing to go to the Rangers, but not the Astros? doesn't make sense to me.

Ever been to Houston?

It's not a bad city. A lot of people live there, lots of jobs. My uncle lives in Sugarland. The port of Houston is nasty, but overall it's not a bad place.

I hate Houston with a passion, not the Astros, just the city

6 man rotation, now Cole Hamels.

Dumb and dumber.

Start beating the west (and that starts tonight) and get middle relief figured out first. Detwiler? really?

Harrison's back is fused and Holland is one tear away from major shoulder problems. Perez figured out how to
be quite effective before he went down. Tommy John has a very good success rate. I expect Perez to be back as good as ever in time.

Beltre +, Hamilton +-?

All pitchers are a tear away from major shoulder problems..... As of now Holland has no such tear

Agreed about Harrison though no faith in his back,

Perez is looking much better right out of the gate than I expected, velocity looks good, we'll see as he starts to step it up, not sure how many breaking balls he's throwing right now

I am not set against or for Hamels. I am just keeping an open mind. If we were to get him it would depend on what we gave up. He is one of the few pitchers and I mean few that I feel can make an impact much like Cliff Lee did. Plus if we have him then we have him for more than just a rental so he could help us for a couple of years. But if we do not get him then I am fine with that as long as he is not with a division rival.

Perez does look the best of those on the DL but he may still not help us until next year but the way he pitched last night he may prove many of us wrong. But you are right that TJ has a great success rate nowadays. And Harrison I do not feel comfortable about and Holland I am really up in the air about in regards to helping us this year.

And besides Beltre and Hamilton we really need DeShields back as well. He was quite the spark plug for this team.

Forgot about Deshields. Totally agree.

Guaranteed they're asking for some combination of Alfaro, Gallo, Thompson, and Chi Chi.

My gut reaction says that Gallo and Chi Chi are off the table. Chi Chi more than anything. That the talks are still ongoing (as far as we know) makes me assume that RAJ is amenable to a package without them. JD is no fool.

Alfaro should be too, catchers are about as hard to find, if not harder, than starting pitching

Yea. A Taylor Teagarden doesn't come around but once in a lifetime.

Making my point for me, anytime someone with K-garden's skill set was coveted it's pretty telling

Though in no way do I put Alfaro and Teagarden even in the same stratosphere talent wise

I would love to see a division rival make a bad trade for Hamels. Long term that is very good for us I think.
