Rays, Rangers, Diamondbacks Interested In Catchers
With the trade deadline rapidly approaching, there are still many moving pieces. Joel Sherman of The New York Post (Twitter …www.mlbtraderumors.com
They mention Austin Hedges. NO. No, no, no, no.
The only 2 catchers who are supposedly available whose bats are arguably better than Garver’s are Grandal and Caratini.
For my money, it would have to be a VERY cheap trade to make a catcher worth our while.
Please not us. Please. I can’t take another Jeff Mathis.
Okaythe actual order in which the batters are batting, not who is in the lineup.

Not even sure that’s true. It close. Hedges probably hits for better average, just because big league pitching eats Sam’s lunch. But Sam has the power and swing to go deep every once in a while when he luckily makes contact. Hedges… not so much. Kind of a pick your poison situation.Someone on Reddit said "his offense is better than Huff" like that's a compliment

Glad we don't have that management group.
To trade for just about any catcher would be such a waste. What's that say about Huff as our backup? Please not us. Please. I can’t take another Jeff Mathis.
That he’s still not ready or capable of dealing MLB pitchingTo trade for just about any catcher would be such a waste. What's that say about Huff as our backup?
What does it say that Huff has been our only backup in the minors for years? This organization values highly regarded catching prospects about like they value relief pitchers for the big league club.To trade for just about any catcher would be such a waste. What's that say about Huff as our backup?
