I think he’s finished. He strikes me a guy that works quickly and gets what he intends to get and that’s it. Doesn’t strike me a s a down to the wire guy unless someone just all the sudden becomes available for cheap. Clearly they weren’t in on any bats or that would have likely been done already and I think they paid what they were willing to pay and landed the pitching they intended to and were done
Having not seen him during this type of team activity I think he’s prepared to go in whatever direction is needed

We simply disagree about Scherzer.
That’s cool, but if you don’t think Scherzer was a good addition who will help us, I think you’ll find your opinion on that disagrees with just about everyone.

Maybe. He may have something on the table and if somebody else flinches something may happen

Saw where it stated the Rays, Rangers and Diamondbacks are interested in catchers. I just can't imagine anything out there worth trading for.

Does anyone know how much money the Mets are paying out of pocket for Scherzer and Verlander combined?

They mention Austin Hedges. NO. No, no, no, no.

The only 2 catchers who are supposedly available whose bats are arguably better than Garver’s are Grandal and Caratini.

For my money, it would have to be a VERY cheap trade to make a catcher worth our while.

That's okay. That is how it is.

Didn't say he wouldn't help us though. He is not anything close to an ace any longer though. He is what he has been this year, and so is Perez, Heaney and Gray.

I don’t see where you’re getting the “not an ace” anymore stuff from.

He ranks #15 in MLB in K/9 ahead of Gerrit Cole, Shane McLanahan, Yu Darvish, and Corbin Burnes. He was also 9-4 on a very bad Mets team. And again, minus a couple of uncharacteristic meltdowns which ballooned his ERA, he’s still a mid-3’s starter.
