On this date in 1974 - The Indians run likely the most disastrous promotion in baseball history. "10-cent beer night" at Cleveland Municipal Stadium leads to numerous fans running onto the field and fighting each other and the players. Players armed themselves with bats for protection from the rioters. The Indians had to forfeit the game to the Texas Rangers.

I remember well. At least we got a win out of it.

That 1974 team is one of my all time favorite Rangers teams. Billy Martin was Manager of the Year. Mike Hargrove was Rookie of the Year. Fergie Jenkins was Comeback Player of the Year. Jeff Burroughs was MVP. Jim Sundberg was a great rookie as well. Add in guys like Bibby, Harrah, Foucault, Nelson, Randle, and Lovitto.

He has 3 games against the atrocious Doug Brocail pitching staff coming up. The rangers always make sure he’s in the lineup when we’re facing bad teams / bad pitchers. You can tell their looking for any excuse to keep him up at the big league level even tho he obviously needs to go down.

According to you, he's always in the lineup regardless of who we're playing or who's pitching.

But in all fairness, I thought the Rangers missed a good - if not perfect - opportunity to send his ass to Nashville when he came out and played in hot-pants!.....Totally unacceptable
