Who’s going to trade for Trout with 7 years $248000000 left on his contract and his injury history
The Yankees. Never count out the Yankees. They’ve wanted him for years. Injuries don’t matter one bit to Brian Cashman. He’s gonna need a big name signing to save his job and keep the pitchforks away after this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave up Dominguez or Volpe to get him.

Duran can not stop swinging at pitches almost in the dirt. Bases loaded

Looks like I spoke too soon about him figuring it out, he looked agitated all night at the plate and at the big strike zone...

Just have to be patient with him and see how things go.

I lurk on an Astros message board just to see what the competition is up to.

im confused on this. Anytime they’re losing a game or have lost a game, the Astro fans all start crapping in dusty baker and Maldonado. Can someone explain why?

I personally think they’re very lucky to have dusty. Dusty is a better manager than 90% of the managers we’ve ever had. I’d only put up Bochy or Johnny oats up against dusty. Everyone else doesn’t come close. Dusty won them their only legitimate championship and cleaned up their franchise after the cheating scandal.

as for Maldonado or maldy, the guy caught all the pitchers for a long time and they seem to be comfortable with him behind the plate. Catcher seems like the only position where intangibles can play a huge factor in playing time and Maldonado seems to have intangIibles in spades. Dusty seems kind of old school in That he just wants a catcher who the pitchers like and plays good defense / prepares well.

He can’t seem to realize that the other teams know he’s never seen a low slider he won’t swing at and nothing the Rangers manager, hitting coach or every fan in the stands do can stop him.

Dusty Baker is notorious for doing stupid shit that constantly makes him easy to question and shit on, its one of the big reasons why people didn't think he could win a world series, he'd find a way to coach himself out of a win. Maldonado can't hit which makes him easy fodder for any fan base. Hell, half this board wanted to replace Heim this offseason because he didn't hit enough las year, despite his improvement oveer the previous season and despite his intangibles.

7th - Stratton
8th - Smith
9th - Chapman

That could be gnarly come playoff time... even Burke in the 6th could be great

And Sborz is doing his best to get right in the middle of that group.

Very true. If not for the Jankowski paternity leave the Rangers could have very well ignored JPM all season long.

The Athletic Power Rankings has the Rangers at #3, behind the Braves and the Orioles.

Any combination of Burke, Chapman, Sborz, Smith and Stratton in the 7th, 8th and 9th is a win-win scenario. And even Anderson in the 6th inning keeps it a win-win. And I have no problem with using Sborz or Chapman or Smith in the 9th.
