He has had 8 hits in the last week. You can not look at his game logs and not realize he has been a whole lot better than he has been..167 average Monday through Friday. How is that wrong. 2 good games at the plate and suddenly he’s been much better for a week?
It has nothing to do with “whipping boys”. Lowe isn’t perfect, but he contributes a hell of a lot more than Duran. Whipping boys implies some sort of irrational dislike or blame towards certain players. I like all of the Rangers players and want them all to succeed. But the numbers don’t lie. For the past 2 months or so there is a group of 3 regulars who have flat-out not contributed- Duran, Taveras, and Grossman.Looks to me Duran is getting better with the slider. Was very patient the bat before
Since taking over for JUng they showed him having an OPS over 1000. But yeah he has to learn plate discipline just as Adolis is maki f strides with.
To me his Abs look better than Lowes currently
Seems like this board wants to make some guys their whipping boys. Just IMO
I am excited for his future growth
I guess I just need to see more than 2 games and a handful of not horrible at-bats before I say he’s on the rebound. Make no mistake- I hope he goes 20 for his next 20 and becomes the old Duran again. But I’m just tired of his strikeouts, especially in key at-bats. He’s got 3 more tonight. He has had 8 hits in the last week. You can not look at his game logs and not realize he has been a whole lot better than he has been.
Whole Lot Better ≠ He is Doing Great
The 5 hits in 2 games is something he hadn't done in about 8 weeks. The 8 for 20 was something he hadn't done in 6 weeks.
He had been really bad. He can be a whole lot better without saying he has arrived. There have been some very positive signs though.
It just seemed odd to say you had had it with him right after the two games he had just had. I guess that's just me though. I know it can be very frustrating to watch guys struggle.
The big test for him will be if he can sustain great performance once pitchers figure him out and adjust. Jung and Duran both got figured out and their averages dipped. Jung seemed to be adjusting before he got hurt. I hope Duran does the same.JP keeps on impressing.
You're right. Opposing pitchers will adjust to him and cat and mouse will be on.The big test for him will be if he can sustain great performance once pitchers figure him out and adjust. But yeah, he looks great!
Agree to not using him in the field.Grossman is fine if used on as a rh hitter against lh pitchers as a DH. Bochy made a statement coming out of ST that they had fixed what caused Grossman's severe splits and he had no problem using him against both. That was flat out wrong. Using him the in the field should be kept at a minimum too.
He has been great.Max Scherzer - 20.0 IP / 3-0 / 26 K / 1.80 ERA / 0.80 WHIP
Anyone still want to say he’s not at least a #2 starting pitcher? Anyone?
Who’s going to trade for Trout with 7 years $248000000 left on his contract and his injury historyThe dream team of Moreno and Minasian made such a great call not to trade Ohtani. Set the franchise back at least another 5 years. If they don’t immediately hang a “For Sale” sign around Mike Trout’s neck once the season ends, then they should just sell the team.
Probably no one and that is a good thingWho’s going to trade for Trout with 7 years $248000000 left on his contract and his injury history
