Not sure why you send him out there at 98 pitches, you know he didnt need to thrown many more than that anyway. Why not start the inning w a new pitcher, don't care about the matchup

Great job Diekman. Nice to see that high 90 mph fastball again.

KILL THE WAVE

I remember being at the park to see them face Boston a couple years ago. The game was really close late in the game. Tied I think. We ended up winning on a Beltre walk of single that barely got over pedroia. Long story short some jackass sitting in the next aisle over decided to start the wave. He got a few people doing it and I just remember shooting him this go to hell look. He said, "What? You don't want to do the wave?" I responded, "There's an extra innings baseball game on, bud. Why don't you sit down and enjoy it instead of acting like a 10 year old?"

Terry Francona is a weird dude. The Indians gave up a LOT to get Andrew Miller, one of the best relievers in baseball. Everyone assumed Miller would be the closer since he did so well in that role for the Yankees and since their old closer Allen wasn't all that special.

So what does Francona do? He uses Miller as a floater in the bullpen, everywhere from the 6th inning to the 8th inning, but not as closer. And Allen just gave up a grand slam in the 9th and blew the save for the Indians.

Why do managers outsmart themselves? It's almost like obvious solutions bother them so they try to think of something better. Miller is absolutely lights out. He should be their closer.
