The magic number is down to 2. Any combination of Rangers wins or Astros losses equaling 2, and we win the division.

Win tonight regardless for a playoff clinch as well although obviously a secondary goal and nothing to pop the cork over.

My chief goal, of course, is for the Rangers to win the division, but if I could know ahead of time that the Astros would lose 2 games this weekend, I would want the Rangers to only win the first game and knock the Astros out of the playoffs. The Blue Jays would have to cooperate as well. Going into this series I am not thinking that way, though. If the Rangers win tonight and the Astros get way behind tomorrow night, I might change my mind. Lol

I hear some say they could celebrate twice, but I personally won't be satisfied until we clinch the division.

There is already talk of Evan Carter leading off next year. I really hope they do not do that. In today's game there is such an overly strong push for leadoff hitters to take a lot of pitches. I call it "begging for a walk." I don't want Carter or any other young hitter with that burden on them when they go to the plate. Let a veteran who knows how to handle the pressure, or better yet, ignore it, have the leadoff spot.

Considering the injuries the rotation has faced, Dunning should be selected as Rangers Pitcher of the Year. He should be in the 2024 rotation after starting this season in the bullpen.

Lowe may not be moved from that spot permanently until he is traded. If they don't trade him we may be stuck with him hitting third until he becomes a free agent, or until Bochy retires.

I think we see Langford in the 3rd batting position. I truly expect that we will see Lowe batting around 7. But all this will be worked out as decisions are made about who we sign and who we bring up. Personally I only see 1 position Player free agent that we might sign or resign and that’s Garver we have all the others already on the team or in the minors
