I played baseball many years and why is there no 3rd base coaching 101? That ball is hit down the RF line which is to Fielders back once he starts running. Now I agree he should have known from the beginning he could score because I know I would have taken off with the intent of scoring. But at the same time the coach needs to be waving him on. I have to put blame on both parties.

I've played a little baseball myself and you round the bag and scoring unless the stop sign is up. Same hitting a base hit to the OF, you round 1st hard and pick up the ball, if it's bobbled, you advance.

agree to disagree is fine with me

True, but third base coaching 101 says you wave your player home as soon as you can. Pettis is too indecisive as a third base coach.

Yeah if the third base coach is not going to make a decision and they are gonna put it on the player, then why have anyone in the 3rd base coaches box at all? Just let the player decide when he should go hard or pull up, screw a base coach they may just get in the way(sarcasm)

I agreed and disagreed. Running to 1st everything is in front of you so you can see what is happening. A 1st base coach to me was always more important once I made it too 1st unless there was something going on in the IF that I could not see.

The Tigers are about to go 4-0 and Kinsler is hitting almost .370 in the 4 games. Nelson Cruz on the other hand is hitting .188 in 5 games.

And Joe Nathan has entered the game and immediately given up 2 hits.

If we can stay within striking distance of the division lead to the all star break (4-5 games) and we can get everyone back healthy we'll have a decent chance.

Oakland's grounds crew was so inept they screwed them out of a chance to see Seattle's worst starter. Because of the off day they skipped his start got Felix today. And likely Chris Young won't be pitching on the make up game. Good stuff there dumbass Oakland.

Just gotta hope the team can avoid getting swept. Especially during this series and the next

Yes, and catcher is even worse.

Yeah and I was hoping Chirinos would stay hot after ST and take the everyday job from JPA but that was another false hope. Keep grinding out at bats (I laugh)

Prince needs to make up for his awful day yesterday. He hit the ball well, but that was the only thing.

I knew JPA wouldn't hit, but he's not great defensively either. Robinson looks like he has the ability to be a good or at least decent hitter. I would be playing him over JPA right now and see if I couldn't get him going.

Got to agree with that. JPA is temporary at best and Robinson may be around a while thus needs more playing time since he measures up with JPA.
