Biggest thing I think they could have done to try to change the direction of the game was to intentionally foul off pitch after pitch to get the count up and frustrate Musgrove. I know it may sound a bit cheesy and can be a bit boring to watch but whatever works is what you gotta do...

Not to mention getting to the bullpen doesn't do us much favors, 3 runs in 29 2/3 innings for San Diego's relievers with all 3 coming against Stammen in 3 1/3 innings, so take him out and its, 26 1/3 innings of shutout ball by the bullpen this year

Gallo is something along the lines of the trade deadline or end of year, if not traded, and Guzman just depends on playing time and health of himself and others, so I'd say to the end of the year but he could be gone via trade sooner

I would say Guzman should be given half a season playing almost everyday. Unless we have a lot of injuries that is not going to happen.

Gallo will get the playing time. He just needs to play at the level he began to play at in our last normal season, before he got injured.

I think Gallo is going to play at that same level, but I have no idea how that will effect his future with the Rangers. I think that decision will be based on how quick the rebuilding process is expected to take, in the eyes of JD and company. In other words, does that window open before any prospects we could get for Gallo are expected to make major contributions? If that is the case then they probably try to extend Joey.

One thing that will hamper us from rebuilding as quickly, is if potential draftee, Kumar Rocker, continues to struggle. O
If we can take one of those Vandy pitchers and they both are pitching well then our best prospect will be ready in 2023 or 2024. If we have to draft the hugh school SS from Dallas, then our best prospect doesn't arrive until 2025 or later. If Rocker continues to struggle then we most likely have to take Lawler.

If his average, BB and K rate show sustained improvement (basically, staying where they are now or better), then see what you can get for him either midseason or offseason this year. I'll have to see how 2021 goes for him as a whole before I even consider signing him, and even then, he'd need an MVP-caliber campaign to get me to seriously consider it.

Guzman needs to play 140 games this year to give a better idea of what we have with him.

I am pretty much done with Gallo. Giving him an extension would be a repeat of another Oder fiasco. Seems most see Guzman the same. He needs a fair chance to develop or not. But it would be a terrible shame to see two defensive gloves walk away because they can't hit.
