Kluber didn’t agree to anything. The Indians traded him.Corey Kluber has agreed to terms with the Texas Rangers.
Meh. He pitched 30 some odd innings last season with a 5.80 era.Corey Kluber Stats | Baseball-Reference.com
$18 Million in 2021 with a 1 Million buyout ... The Indians got very little in return ... Good news for the rest of the Central.

I wish they could have gotten more for him, but given the issues he’s had with his back and what happened last season, it’s not surprising.
Thanks for 2016, and good luck, Mr Kluber.
All remains to be seen.Good pickup for Texas. That return though for Cleveland is awful.
How people misunderstand the concept of a trade vs a FA signing is beyond me. They two are VERY different, and reporting one as the other just shines a spotlight on the “reporters” ignorance.Kluber didn’t agree to anything. The Indians traded him.
Are you serious?Hence my title “Rangers”

I also don’t like when folks compare player contracts signed as extensions to contracts signed when the player is an unrestricted FA. There’s a pretty big difference between those as well. How people misunderstand the concept of a trade vs a FA signing is beyond me. Negative $37,000,000.For?
Considering Kluber’s past two seasons and the approx $40MM he’s owed over the next two seasons, I don’t have much of a problem with this move. They probably should have traded him last offseason.Love trading a 2 time cy for a reliever and a OF that can’t hit. Classic tribe
