Yeah, that seems to be the general consensus this year. Lotsa quality from the mid 1st round into the 3rd round, but very few blue chippers.
A lot of the mid 1st rounders are a bit riskier than normal. Josh Simmons, Will Johnson, Luther Burden, some edge rushers with character issues.

A lot of DTs. I think McShay or someone else said there are about 7 more DTs than normal within the first two rounds. They seem relatively safe, too, so I could see teams just grabbing them early and often.

I think the Rams needed a plan after Stafford regardless. This just forces their hand probably a year earlier than normal.

Jimmy G. Draft a rookie. Thats my guess.

There are maybe only 4 blue chip prospects and like 40 red chip prospects. I dont expect much trading is my first takeaway.

I need to get a feel for the board draft mock, assuming it's happening again this year lol.

Until I see Stafford somewhere else, my assumption will continue to be a re-worked contract for at least the next 2 seasons with the Rams.

I don't see him as a guy that would want to go to Cleveland/NY/Vegas and play for a struggling franchise for a small raise. These are all just negotiation tactics.

He's already making that. Of course he wants at least that in a restructured/extended deal.

His cap hit for 2025 is just short of $50M, and $53M+ (nonguaranteed) for 2026. Of course, a lot of that was paid up front in bonus money in terms of actual cash due.
He ISN'T already making that, and that's the issue. Those cap numbers are due to previous seasons money paid that the team has delayed accounting for. It's NOT due to 2025 money being paid upfront. He's due $23M plus a $4M roster payment in 2025 and $26M plus a $5M roster bonus in 2026 on a placeholder contract. Both Stafford and the team want a 'real' contract sorted out early rather than dragging things out into preseason as happened in 2024. It should be straight forward, but I don't expect the details to be announced until late May when all of the team's other cap details are finalised. The 2026 salary is unlikely to be guaranteed.
