What do you think this guy would fetch on the market? He would still have 3 years left on his deal but at the same time, he’s publicly flirted with retirement.

a very underrated stat for lineman!Taken in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams had a productive rookie season.
He managed 15 games, playing 273 defensive snaps, and grabbed himself four sacks, 10 tackles for loss (joint second-highest for the team), nine quarterback hits, and three fumble recoveries. ... All of that while only playing 27 percent of the defensive snaps in games he featured.
Now, as we approach his second training camp, could Williams be set for a breakout season in Dallas? ESPN's Adam Rank thinks so.
"It's hard to make a big impact when you're stuck behind Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence," Rank writes. "But that's what Williams did during his rookie season. Williams had four sacks despite playing less than a third of the defensive snaps for the Cowboys. They have to find more ways to get him on the field."
Getting Williams onto the field more is a tricky ask for coordinator Dan Quinn.
Dan be like.

Maybe I’m reading it wrong but it Looks to me like he only costs a team $13.5M this year and just under $22M next year. If anything his contract makes him even more desirable. All of the dead money stays with the Rams so they’d be trading their best player and taking a bunch of dead money. The return would probably have to be pretty high for that.few teams would be able to take aaron donalds contract.its 22 million 5 hundred thousand a year.
He's due $35M next year. $20M of that is classed as an option/signing bonus and there are 2 bogus years on his deal that automatically void. Consequently only 1/3 of the new signing bonus shows on the 2024 cap. He would only cost $13.5M this year and any team adding him for the 2nd half of the season would only be picking up the 2nd half of that amount. Additionally they could restructure part of that $6.75M into a signing bonus to reduce the 2023 cap number. However the bottom line is a trade would require the Rams, the new team and Donald to all be on board. If Donald is on board with a trade he'd likely agree to a restructured contract that paid most of the remaining 2023 money in March 2024 rather than January 2024 if that's what the new team needed with the cap. From the Rams perspective a trade would reduce salary and cap for 2023. $16M of dead cap beyond 2024 would accelerate into 2024 but they wouldn't be paying $10M in 2024 salary or accounting for 1/3 of the $20M new signing bonus. A trade would be cap neutral.Maybe I’m reading it wrong but it Looks to me like he only costs a team $13.5M this year and just under $22M next year.
