This is a big Wow to me. I don't get it. Exercise the option and then trade him. Seems something going on other than just the regular "can't sign everyone" stuff
We will have at least 65+ million in cap spaceThe Rams plan to maximize 2024 cap space is slowly coming together....
You're gonna need it...We will have at least 65+ million in cap space
Could have been worse, they could have introduced him to the song "It's Raining Men"A sound track for introducing Aaron Rodgers is the gayest think you’ll see today.
Hallelujah!Could have been worse, they could have introduced him to the song "It's Raining Men"
Exercising the 5th year option now fully guarantees a 5th year at $17.452M. The DE franchise tag figure for 2023 is $19.727M. Young only started 2 games in 2022 because of injury. There's a significant probability of his not returning to an elite level in 2023 and the the Commanders would then be stuck with his guaranteed contract. If he does return to form the Commanders can still franchise tag him. There is a concern that the tag values are going to increase dramatically next year, but it's a safer option than guaranteeing him now. This is a big Wow to me. I don't get it. That is what I was about to paste. Not just Donald but expected to go way up. Also, right or wrong once you tag a guy it becomes almost an unofficial floor for long term negotiations. If you extend the first round tender and then extend next offseason it begins in year 6. If you tag but then extend it begins in year 5 so you lose a year and the impact is even greaterExercising the 5th year option now fully guarantees a 5th year at $17.452M. Later edit: lol at the Aaron Donald effect of the DE tag projection going up from $19.727M to $24.466M.
