Benching AR was a no brainer.

Flacco gives the Colts a better chance to win and garner a WC spot.

Absolutely, I’m just puzzled as to why they didn’t do it sooner.
He was the #3 draft pick in 2023. They probably wanted to give him a legit shot before benching him.

Not every team benches their top draft pick as fast as Carolina did. It's not like it's too late right now. Let's not act like the Colts are sitting at 1-7 or 2-6....they are 4-4. Not like the season is over or anything. They probably did it at the right time for them.

Looking at the Colts next 5 games....

@Minnesota
Buffalo
@NYJ
Detroit
@NE

Starting Flacco they should be able to go 3-2....assuming Flacco plays like he did with the Browns.

The Panthers traded Diontae Johnson and a 6th to Baltimore for a 5th rounder.
Good move for the Ravens - while they have a great offense they still needed another WR - their #3 receiver til now was Nelson Agholor and that’s not great, while they use their two TEs Andrews and Likely a lot so it wasn’t as glaring as it would be on some other team it was still something they needed to improve.

Given that he's been on the bench for 8 games is Flacco eligible for CPOY for a 2nd straight season? I know winning it in back-to-back seasons would be ridiculous, but it's a ridiculous award to start with.

Living just north of Chicago in southern WI I listen to Chicago sports radio and so far this season all we have been hearing is how great Williams is.

Other division foes keep reminding Bears fans they have not played anyone yet and to wait until they play a real team. They played a real team last Sunday and Chicago sports talk radio was comedy. They want to fire coaches and more

Williams had that game won if they play a smidge of defense on that final drive.

Eh Seattle got good and had a ton of money poured into it over the last decade with Amazon, Google, etc.. and now you got a ton of season ticket holders just selling them to visitors for a huge profit. I heard almost half the stadium was filled with Bills fans. That 12th man advantage is gone.

Bills fans do travel well.

I understand...division homers have the hardest time being objective.
The game narrative changes if that ball falls to the ground.

Williams is no hype for me.
We'll see. :2cents:

The coaching staff isn't doing him many favors either.

couple of points to your post.

I thought based on the constant pressure last week, Williams was outstanding. The type of game played between the fat lines changes greatly from one week to the next. Like it or not, Williams is a keeper and showed as much last Sunday.

play a real team? Really? I expected better here Legs, knowing you've followed pro football a long ass time.

I' think perhaps in most all sports cities local sports treen Bay being that one exception.
I have to question if you even watched the game. Caleb was missing throws all over the field for the majority of the game. The pressure he faced was nothing worse than the pressure Daniels faced. I have only seen Bears fans try to defend him but none went so far as to call his game "outstanding". That is laughable.

Swift's long TD run gave them life, before that they were dead in the water. Then they got momentum, it happens all the time in sports, and finally completed a few passes and were given a milligan when a questionable PI call eliminated another incompletion that would have ended the game.

Trey Lance was never NOT benched. At most he was a gimmick player with the Niners.

Levis is injured, not really benched.

Might be more of an evaluation problem than development problem. However, benching Young and Richardson is pointless unless they are really out on those two permanently. Richardson was expected to need development, probably shouldn't have started as early as he did. We know the issues with the Panthers (coach wanted Stroud, ends up fired, lunatic owner, etc). Jets have ruined multiple QB prospects (and apparently an aging Rodgers).

Fields had plenty of opportunity to develop, just hasn't progressed. He's OK, but clearly not as good as Wilson moving forward.

I never understood the love Richardson got after he had a few big games early in his rookie seaaon. Yeah he made great runs but it was obvious them that he didn't throw it nearly well enough.

I don't know what the Colts really have to gain though? They're pretty much throwing their high draft pick QB's future into question so that they can maybe win a few more games and end up doing little more than getting a lesser draft position. Changing the QB isn't going to improve their #28 defense.

Or maybe it was just a bad QB class. None of these players will ever turn out the way their teams had hoped they would. It happens all the time yet this class is exceptionally bad where the last class looks to be really good.

It was just a matter of time till Levis was benched.
