Good point. Losing Barkley is a BIG blow to that team and him being out for a couple-three weeks does give Daboll an excuse for not playing well. Hell, they might also be without their starting LT (hammy) and LG (concussion) on Thursday night.

With how poorly the first 6 quarters were going for the Giants, I was beginning to wonder how long it would be before Daboll was on the hot seat. Stealing that win helps, and losing Saquon (while very unfortunate) gives him an excuse for the Giants to struggle moving forward.

Yeah, built in excuse for sure. Add to that the way the team grossly over achieved last year and he gets a longer leash. The roster really isn't all that great and even before the season, I figured there would be a regression but they looked awful for the first game and a half. They have a 4 game stretch that could all be losses without Barkley. The only one I give them a shot to win is the Seahawks. By the time they face Dallas in week 10, they could be 3-6 or worse the way they've been starting games so far. Daboll has his work cut out for him.

Probably won't hurt him? He is one of the best CB's in the NFL. Losing big difference makers hurt no matter what.

No it won't hurt as bad as losing Parsons would, but it still hurts. Dallas was lucky to have 2 really good CBs this year. Kind of a pick your poison thing. Certainly teams will now throw at Bland and Lewis much more than they would have Diggs and neither is the player Diggs is. So the drop off is significant
