Was at the Bears-Chiefs game today.
Fantasy owners beware.
Absolutely putrid performance by all phases.
First team offense had a total of 2 first downs the entire first half.
Alshon dropped balls.
White looked awful.
Langford was meh but sure got plenty of touches.
The defense made some nice stops but pretty much allowed the Chiefs to move the ball on 3rd and long.
Special teams was horrible. Terrible kick coverage and even Robbie missed a field goal.
Hoyer looked even worse in relief.

To add insult to injury (literally), 3rd string QB Connor Shaw looked awesome.
Went through his progressions nicely and created the only TD scoring drive of the game.
Then he broke his leg.
Hoyer came in to replace him and looked lost out there.

And now I read on Rotoworld that the Bears may release Connor Shaw!? :poke:
I guarantee this kid will be a star if given the chance.

I've heard the O-line is really bad. True?

Kyle Long is out with a labrum issue. (Rumor is Long may still play in the opener.) And we lost center Hroniss Grasu for the season (knee).

So yeah, the O-line is bad. An optimist might say that since it's preseason, the Bears were using the opportunity to "audition" to see what works and what doesn't as they shuffle lineman around. For the most part nothing has worked.

Colts o-line better step up too. Luck can't throw from his back. (and Gore can't run through man fences)

Got bored waiting for the MBBRL draft.... Just finished a 12-team mock:

Drafting from position 3 in a snake

QBs: Rodgers (4), Dalton (13)
RBs: McCoy (2), Stewart (3), Gore (6), Forsett (9)
WRs: ODB (1), Sanders (5), M. Jones (7), Gordon (8), Stills (12), Perriman (16)
TEs: Thomas (11), Allen (14)
D/ST: Seahawks (10)
K: Boswell (15)

I'd be pretty happy with this... But as always with online mocks, half the draft room was auto-drafting by round 6 or 7.

Guess where he's going if that's the case. They were in the running for him when bears got him.

What I don't understand is the bears wasting the coaching talents of Kromer. The saints could use him back. The organization however is run by former saints personnel.

As we get closer to the season, some great names for fantasy teams in my leagues have surfaced:

-It Ertz when Eifert
-Justafatshaft
-from the Green Bay fan: Slob on my Cobb
-and from the gal in one league: Romophobic Desbiens

I am the Dirty Martinis in that league

Looking for some last minute advice...

I have a draft at the bottom of the hour.
It's basically a 2-QB league because of a "OP" flex position.
PPR
I'm the new owner of the 12.
I pick in the 9th spot.

My Question: If guys start drafting normally and not targeting QB early, should I break the mold, or should I follow suit and try to get the best available?

In 2 QB league I would go QB especially at 9.

This ^^^^100%. Not to worry QBs will be getting picked from the get go, do the same.
Well, I did follow your advice.
But the draft didn't go that way after all.
These guys knew what they were doing from the way they were picking. (PPR too.)
Plus I was drafting simultaneously in another draft. The other draft went well.
This one? You tell me:

QB: Cam & Brees
RB: McCoy, Gordon, Bernard, Crowell, White, Forsett
WR: Keenan, Moncreif, Torrey, Steve Smith
TE: Walker
D: Vikes

QBs didn't get picked early? Only been in 2 leagues with 2 QBs, both times QBs went quick. Got caught short handed the first time.

What's the scoring in the league?

Still think you did good. QBs most likely outscore all other positions. You are alittle short at RB and WR but not enough to make up for your QB strength I think.

Basically PPR league that rewards KR/PR yardage too. All TD are 6 pts.

I was the first guy to take a QB at 9. Then Rodgers and Wilson went. So I grabbed Brees.
Brees was the last QB taken (#16) until Luck at #27.

I'd like to think I did good, being able to start Cam and Brees together.
Maybe this was a new format that even they weren't sure about?

Thanks guys.

Going to fantasy football calculator, and checking ADP for a 2QB league, basically confirms my thoughts on them. 2 QBs with your first 3 picks is a must. By the end of the third round, you're already down to Eli Manning Philip Rivers territory. Unless there's something crazy with the QB scoring in your league, you did good
