Makes it more strange he only got 8 carries the rest of the game. I mean they were playing behind but for awhile only down one score, but they do know Henry can catch too. Give him a screen or something. In the open field he is extremely hard to tackle. Plus he is a much better blocker in pass protection.

It was one carry per drive basically after that first drive.
2nd drive - Run for one yard
3rd - Fumble by Lamar first play
4th - Run for 6 yards.
5th - Run for 9 yards.
6th - Run for no gain.
7th - Run for 6 yards. Run for one yard.
8th - Run for 2 yards. Run for 5 yards.
9th - No runs.

exactly!! 6 yards, 9 yards, 6 yards, 5 yards..you can't even say they weren't going anywhere...arrrggghhhh, the insanity of not continuing to give him the ball

As far as Henry is concerned, I do remember a couple of years back there was a game that the Titans beat the Chiefs easily in the regular season because the Chiefs defense stacked against Henry and the Titans just passed all game. Leo Chenal, the Chiefs LB, had the highest PFF grade last night. Chiefs put a lot of respect towards Henry, I think. If I was the Ravens, he wouldn't have been the focal point.

AJ Brown 8 fer 133 and 1

Tranny is a better passer than Lamar, and Lamar didn't have AJ Brown- and they threw 41 times last night- and it didn't work. WHy did it work for Tranny? well #1` he had AJ Brown, but #2, even with the constant stacked box, they RAN TWENTY NINE times, really makes coverage easy to beat with the safeties constantly up and pass pro much easier when the Dline has had to tackle Derrick Henry 20 times.

Yep and as you can see 29 for 86 is less than 3 ypc. Force them to defend the run. So many teams gets behind and pass, pass, pass. The Browns had the same strategy vs KC years ago and if it wasn’t for a phantom dirty hit resulting in a fumble and 7 points off the board…they win that game

I do think its worth mentioning that the Ravens did run the ball 32 times and as a team they kept the ball out of Mahomes' hands.

There is a possibility that this Ravens defense isnt that good. The Chiefs were really efficient against them week 1 which obviously the natural reaction is that KC is KC but it could be two things.

Chiefs D was totally gassed in the 4th quarter.

Just from a mathematical standpoint, I think its much easier to blame the Ravens defense for their loss than the Ravens offense. From a common sense standpoint, Lamar has to make that throw at the end and the Chiefs got lucky by a toe.

Yeah I don’t think passing plays with Lamar taking off is the same though. KC will take that all day bc it is rare a team can win like that especially consistently.

Well it was week one. Camp is only doing so much and the players need time to adjust. But I agree, Ravens defense could definitely but overrated and/or take time to get up to speed. KC’s defense looked much better and more disciplined imo. I like the Ravens run defense
