My point exactly, ALR. Brown is comparing apples and oranges with a criteria that only AD excels at with several players coming at him every play. Watt doesn't see what AD sees every play and this douchebag things that Watt should win the DPOY!!

Yep

Imagine what Donald’s stats would look like if he got single coverage as much as Watt does.

AD looked bigger yesterday. Looked like he put on 10 lbs or so. Still quick as ever and highly disruptive. Just badass, smashmouth to the core!!

I think Watt takes the DPOY away from him this season.

Donald has been his usual self, but his season doesn’t stand out like Watt’s does ( even though Watt never faces the double/triple teams that Donald faces so it’s never apples to apples ).

Unfortunately there is no way to compute how many more sacks Donald would have if he didn’t face so many double/triple teams game in and game out.

Watt usually only has to beat 1 guy, sometimes 2 if his rush is from the inside. And rarely does he have to deal with the RB blocking him as well.

I think the pundits are just tired of AD winning that award every year, AD is a beast and he has had another great Defensive Player Year. Watt doesn't see near the krap that AD has to go through and AD still was named the Defensive Player of the Month in December. So this giving Watt that award is a dog and pony show IMO.

Well, many feel like he should’ve won it last season, so I think he gets an extra boost just because of that despite what the stats say in favor of Donald when you look at pass rush win rate, double team %, etc.

Well, Watt is over 20 sacks for the year, so it’s pretty much a done deal now.

Update: Watt is going to break Strahan’s record after his 4 sack night.

Btw, all those sacks- no double team at all.

Von Miller is stating his job is much easier as he is getting consistent single blocking. What he may understand but didn't say too much in this article is he is getting one-on-ones because he plays next to (and he mentions Floyd) AD who is getting double and triple teamed every play. The bennies everybody else gets with playing with AD on the field.

Wonder if he’ll go the route a lot of the other linemen took when they hit free agency or stay and continue to play next to Donald: get a high paying contract somewhere and fizzle out. Although at least Miller has proven himself before he got here.

Yeah, Watt plays in the shitty AFC North Division, so of course his numbers were great.

Consider that, and the fact that the announcers were wondering why the Brownies, after a couple of sacks, continued to take Watt 1 on 1.

The Rams signed Eric Weddle out of retirement to fill a roster spot. This is a desperation move. Taylor Rapp suffered a concussion and now the Rams are thin at Safety. Yet they just released JuJu Hughes who was snapped-up by Detroit. McVego/OSFBs/Snead have lost their collective minds!

What is an old and slow Weddle going to do to help the team?

He was a shell of his former self when he played with the Rams, and that was 2 years ago.

Good question ALR. I think it is going to be a complete and utter disaster come Monday. He is going to be like a Nick Scott or David Long. What the Rams call a situational box Safety. But if he gets in a one-on-one situation with the slot receiver, it's going to be an instance great play for the Cards. To make this whole affair even more ridiculous, they had some help in JuJu Hughes but cut him outright. How is keeping a way younger Hughes going to be worse than a 37-year old, 2-year retired, Safety going to be any better? WTH??!! This reeks of OSFBs' logic!
