Weird move. Giving Grier at least one shot at starting would've seemed prudent, since Mac and Zappe have been underwhelming to say the least. He was a relatively hot signing after the preseason and just rotted on the vine in New England. He'll land somewhere, but I doubt it will be with the Rams after signing Wentz.

Getting released midseason after such a great start to his career raises a lot of red flags. He hasn't been able to stay healthy (back issues) and is a shadow of his former self unfortunately. Still would be worth a kick of the tires, but the Cowboys and Eagles will likely be involved. Rams will be way down the list.
