Plenty of NFL capologists saw this coming. Carr's contract is only guaranteed for the next 2 games. He's due $75M over the next 2 seasons and $40.5M of that money fully guarantees 1 week after the Super Bowl. The money guarantees before the trade market opens and Carr has a no-trade clause anyway. No GM/owner should be prepared to guarantee that sort of money for a QB who isn't top 12 and might not be top 20. This is a 'take an immediate terms/pay cut or sit 2 games and be released' manoeuvre by the Raiders.
