Not surprising, I don't think Quinn is going to be in Seattle for too much longer. It's pretty crazy that the Seahawks are employing 3 potential head coaches as coordinators/assistants at the moment. The only thing that might keep them all in Seattle another year is a deep playoff run, and even then it's no guarantee. Eventually some of these guys are gonna be casualties of the team's success.

Pete mentioned in an interview that it is no different for asst coaches. They want everyone to be the best they can and if an opportunity comes up, they are free to go with the organizations blessing. I think it helps the organization more than it hurts. Other asst's will want to come here just like players.

And I think the overall attitude here is more important than any single asst coach.

Is it really, Quinn that makes the difference for our D? Or is it Pete Carroll? We were very good before Quinn took over, we'll be very good after he leaves too, imo....

Quinn left Seattle once before, 2011-12, before retuning to replace Gus Bradley in 2013 as DC.

Maybe he wants to stay, maybe he wants to be a HC?

But certainly, he will be targeted.
PC has stated he will support any coach that wishes to leave and better is career.

As Geezer mentioned, there are plenty of DC's that will want to come here should Quinn leave.

I heard Pete say something along the line of he will do everything he can to help one of his coaches climb up the coaching ladder. That's part of the deal.

I flip radio stations but that's where I heard the interview. It just makes this organization a more desirable stepping stone for coaches working their way up the chain.

I would love to be in the room while Pete and JS interview a prospective new DC.
Imagine Pete, all kicked back in his khaki's and sweatshirt with 3 pieces of gum going and ask "Specifically, what would you do to improve the Seahawks defense?"

Quinn will be a head coach soon, maybe next year, but I'm crossing my fingers that it takes another year.

We weren't nearly as good closing out games under Bradley... Quinn taking over was a blessing...

Yes, Quinn>Bradley IMO.
My guess if Quinn leaves Kris Richard (sp) will take over as DC.
This is ultimately Pete's D.

Quinn has had a lot more pass rushers to work with than Bradley had.

Bradley put our defense in bad positions closing out games... We lost in heart breaking fashion because the dude is clueless on when to send a blitz or disguising blitzes.... Quinn blows Bradley out of the water... If I had to watch another game with Bradley's zone bubbles never blitz scheme, I would a lost my mind...

Im just saying, its easier to be creative when you have a lot more to work with. Neither of them blitz much.

I agree... I mean no doubt a good pass rush helps, especially if it's your front 4 ... But Quinn dials up way better blitzes, and he times them better... Bradley was just way to predictable... I was beyond happy when Quinn came back, and Bradley packed his bags...

Having our LOB, Wagner get a few more years under their belt has definitely helped as well from an experience/maturity angle...

Quinn was and always has been a little more aggressive. They talked about just that when he was coming back to Seattle. Bradley helped build this defense, Quinn got to work with a more completed Defense where Bradley's was lacking. They both used Pete's Scheme ( no brainer ).

Quinn had more success because he had more to work with also they both ( Bradley AND Quinn ) go into Prevent WAY TO OFTEN. Or defense IS a prevent defense with out needing to go into it lol if you get my meaning ( 6.6 PPG )

And this is exactly why I feel we will be just fine if Quinn does move on... Carroll/Schneider won't hire anyone who doesn't have the same vision/game plan as Carroll on the defensive side of the ball...

Dan Quinn was more creative with Pete's scheme then Gus Bradley was. In fairness, the players worked their tail off for both coaches.

I really think the only reason Quinn is still here is because of the Super Bowl. I kinda think he may have ended up in Cleveland if we hadnt advanced that far. I expect this year to be the same.
