Well, if he never gets to see that Russian nurse again, well, then so-ve-it.
Well for a while the sheet covering me looked like it was covering an ICBM ready to launch.

Glad to hear you are well enough to still be hitting on nurses, Steve. Hang in there!
LOL, Thanks loki. I may be down but not out.
BTW, Those groovy pills they gave me to relax and get a good night sleep really did the trick last night. I still have pain but slept through it like a baby. Very restful mind altering drugs, not only did I sleep I had a dream that I was the equipment manager for an all female KHL hockey team. Five players in our last game had groin pulls that needed tending to. Life is good.
I know...I know...."Groovy?". Hey I'm old what can I say.
Seriously, I love the comments on the thread and wish I could rep everyone. I will do my best.
if you don't mind me asking, what sleep med is it?
hope you feel better soon boss!
They have me taking a couple, I take two 5mg Valium, another one I need to get the name of (i will edit it in when I get a min) and a 60mg morphine. That will do it alright. The pain keeps me up as much as anything so the morphine probably helps the most.
I have been in a pain management program for a while now because of the three spinal surgeries and have my blood and urine monitored frequently because so many people abuse that shit. I've never had addiction problems and take them only as needed in fact in the hospital they were asking why I was not requesting what I'm allowed and I told them I can live with pain just not when it gets unbearable and will not pop a pill at the first sign of discomfort.
I've known people that were addicted to them and it was pretty said so I watch it very close and haven't had any problems.

suck to have to be in all that pain, but it's good you are able to stay away from the stuff unless you really need it. it will definitely throw you for a loop.
have you tried any alternative pain management methods? the pain management clinics usually employ some multimodal approaches.
Yes I have, The problem is with my degenerative spinal disk problems The embolisms/clot and throw in the rhabdomyolysis in my left leg we are dealing with multiple issues. So there are multiple therapies and issues to deal with. As far as physical therapies my son is a certified physical therapist so he is able to work with me. The clotting problem (esp until they find out what the hell is causing it) and the rhabdomyolysis are two conditions that require staying off of my feet and limiting my activities so it's a double edged sword.
My god I sound like a wreak !! but it will all work out in the end. I hope people realize I'm not looking for sympathy I'm just an open person and have helped many others with health issues through the years so I guess that just makes me more talkative about things like this.
From what I gather, you've also been talkative with that nurse.
That my friend is excellent PT and would recommend it to any red blooded American (and Canadian) male. All of the meds or PT in the world never trumps something pretty, warm and cuddly to hug.
