Well, in the last 7 years only 33 P5 schools have recruited a 5-star.
(1/2 haven't).
Only 2 schools have recruited at least 1 5-star all 7 years. Alabama
and Florida State.
As far as total 5-stars recruited in those 7 years...
Alabama 32
FSU 19
UGA 19
Clemson 16
USC 15
Ohio St 14
LSU 12
Florida 9
Auburn 9
STANFORD 8
Mich 8
Stanford is tied for 10th so it's not that bad. They just
have to scour the country, but because they have an academic
and athletic name...they can haul in those that want a degree.
Stanford is #2 to USC in the PAC12. Trojans with 15 and the Card
with 8. UCLA has 7 and Washington, Arizona St and Oregon each have one.
About the only disadvantage for Stanford is on Coaches time.
They have a great deal of travel time in front of them. They have
to recruit nationally.
