The first two are the best of Fields and the worst of Fields.

sleeper is the kid from stanford.
But they have said that since Mills stepped on campus. His entire career has been wait until next year until he shows his talent.

I've watched him a bit and I'm not sure I agree with Kellen Mond being a 3rd to 4th rounder. Ball placement and mid range accuracy is pretty good and thats the base for a good QB. He is a mess when it comes to staring guys down, he can sometimes be late when throwing but I think he at least has the tools to work with as a project QB. I'd guess someone will draft him in rd2 and stash him for a year or two.

I think Trask is the line where you're looking at a solid backup QB.

Trey Lance is the biggest gamble in the whole draft. After seeing Trubisky bust, I'll be curious to see if anyone bites on a prospect with Lance's sample size.

1. Lawrence
2. Wilson
3. Fields
4. Jones
5. Lance

There was time where it was resemble to think Mac Jones could land on the Bears at #20 but those days are long gone. Looking like if you want a QB, you going to have to jump within the top 5

If I had to guess:

1. Lawrence. Start from Day 1. Andrew Luck upside.
2. Wilson. Start from Day 1. Matt Stafford upside.

3. Fields. Start midway through the first season. Carson Wentz with 4.4 speed is what they say.
4. Jones. Start from Day 1. Poor-man's Joe Burrow.

5. Lance. Sit for a year. Jalen Hurts type with Tannehill upside.
6. Mond. Sit for a year. Sam Bradford type with Tannehill upside.

My guess is that we'll see 1 HOF level QB from this class, 2 guys who make some pro bowls, 1 guy who is a fringe starter, and a long list of QBs who won't make it. So a good QB class.

I don't get the love for this class. Lawrence regressed last year, Wilson and Lance play vs scrubs, Fields is a one read and run QB and every Bama QB has the best OL, Wrs and RBs in the country on his team

If I had to id go Lawrence but the fact those 5 guys are all likely to go top 10 really tells you how over the top teams are now on drafting QBs

None of them besides Lawrence would be in the top 20 on my big board

How many Big 10 players do you have in your top 20?

3. Maybe 4.

Parsons
Slater
Paye
Newsome

I'd have Bateman and Mayfield ahead of Fields too

Well QBs are inherently overvalued in the draft anyway but Watson and Majones ny themselves was a better class than the top 5 in this draft. Honestky if you take out Lawrence I'd have this class as below average

Ok. Usually you stump pretty hard for a couple of Big10 guys every year. I have 3, as well, although its just Fields, Slater, and Parsons. I wouldn't be stunned if Paye fell in the draft. Only 6'2.5" 261 despite people thinking he was playing at 6'4" 271 and has very little sack production.

Fields is tough because he is really good at running and throwing but as you say its just one read usually. Thats college, though. You generally have to develop college QBs at the NFL level.

I don't hate Fields. He's fine. I certainly wouldn't waste a top 5 pick on him or any other QB in this draft not named Trevor Lawrence but its the way teams think now . Shit SF just spend 3 1s to move up and draft a guy who has like a 50% chance to turn out as good as the guy they already have. So it's just how it works now

Lots of Falcons fans want a QB at 4 but those same folks are disappointed in Ryan's career even though he's probably had the 2nd best career of any top 5 QB this century lol

Ryan isn't my favorite QB or anything but when you have a franchise QB you ride him out until he isn't. Falcons shouldn't draft a QB. You guys basically choked away games against both Super Bowl teams last year. Thats not a rebuilding team. Not a team that sucks at closing.

There is a good argument for you guys taking Pitts, imo. He is basically the Julio Jones of TE prospects and might even be a WR type at the next level. Getting him in the mix while Ryan ages works both to help you guys make the playoffs in the short-term and bridge your way to a new QB.

I personally think this is just a sub par draft class overall because of COVID. The value of the QBs is hard to turn down when so many players took a year off. I'd also say that the defensive play in the SEC was also well below average from what I saw. I do think the QB class is good but even if you look at my upside comparisons, you see very few playoff wins.

How would you know now? Rate them after they have proved their worth - or not!

Lawrence could be the next Brock Osweiler!!!!!

  • Good arm strength
  • Quick release
  • Does a good job of pushing the ball downfield
  • Scrambling ability
  • Quickness
  • Throws well on the run
  • Not afraid of getting hit
  • Has the potential for superb field vision
  • Scheme versatility; can fit West Coast or pro-style offense
  • Opens up mismatches for teammates with dual-threat nature

also my personal sleeper was and always was jamie newman, but with him opting out, just crushed it... he needed to clean some things up in his game........could be a steal to sit for a two years, a year whatever
