Honestly I like Martinez, but feel we need to go in a new direction. With the easy season next year I think it would be perfect for TA to get his feet wet. Won't happen and Martinez will be QB. Which is fine being a senior an all. But I would like to go with a more QB, QB. Then a athlete playing QB.

Hopefully he just gets enough playing time to be ready the following year.

He will be our best option next year and it won't even be close.

He'll be 1 of about 3 or 4 guys who will be on all the major pre season award watch lists and it's going to be him, manziel and Miller who are considered the top contenders for the heisman early on.

This is all depending on what type of game he has vs Georgia though.

No one is gonna take him seriously if we get blown out again.

There are other guys like Boyd, Blake Bell, Mariota, and Hundley.

Unless Tommy is running a 4.1 40, jumping 50 inches off the ground and completing 100% of his passes against the #1 Defensive unit in practice, it would be the most foolish move ever to dethrone a Senior Taylor Martinez and insert a Freshman.

En sech.

Not to mention, what will be a 4-year starter in Taylor Martinez.....

Any time you are going to have a 4-year starter......you better take advantage of that shiz.

I might also add, insert a good Defense into this current season, and you're looking at a 13-0 Nebraska team.....

Think that's far-fetched to say? I don't. We scored at least 30 points in all 3 of our losses. Imagine if we had the 2009 Defense with Suh......

We would be undefeated with a real Defense this season.

We would be 6-7 without Taylor Martinez this season.

TA will be a rFr, we'll definitely need to get him some mop up time, of course we have to Not be trying to execute a 4th QT comeback, which lately translates to 80% of the time. It's taken Tito 4 agonizing years to get to this point, I thought he played well enough for us to stay in, if not win, every game this year. Our qb was the least of our problems by quite a margin.

I am a fan of Taylor. I hate the turnovers and I hate our oline. Also or D is sub par we need a lot of work to be rounded.

Yea, we just had the one bad loss to Texas Tech.

Towards the end of that season though, we were playing like a top 10 team......and we were doing it with an absolutely horrid Offense.

With next seasons schedule TA SHOULD see the field plenty.... so long as Stanton ain't the #2....

My honest opinion about T Mateeniz

he is just a goofball that can run real fast

other than that-----he lacks a lot of athletic skills nen seeeech

So in other words, Taylor Martinez is you?

Fucking love T Magic and everything he's done.

OK...every Husker fan close your eyes. Now imagine Martinez's backup playing the last three years. Now look how many games we won.

Wished he turned it over a lot less though. If he didn't fumble and throw bad picks in big games, he'd have to wear a raincoat for all the slobbering over his knob.

I believe we have enough evidence that Bo would more likely to leave TA on the bench if he was displaying this kind of ability and talent, because he WOULD NOT want everyone to see him showing up Taylor. True story!

I agree. If we had the '09 defense in this B1G schedule we would be 13-0. I do think we would have had a hard time going undefeated if we were still in the classic Big 12. They have the type of offenses to have success against our '09 defense.
This years K-State team could move on that defense and slow down our offense. They prolly be a slight favorite.
'09 T-Tech moved on our '09 defense. This year's version of OU and T-Tech prolly has success against the '09 defense. I question if they could even slow down this year's version of our offense. We would be the favorite in those games.
This year's offense teamed with the '09 defense straight up beats the rest of the Big 12, including Texas and Missouri.
The interesting game would have been us against Johnny Football's aTm squad. I would have loved to see us with our '09 defense against the classic Big 12 conference. What a year that could have been.
To repeat, I agree Jack. We are playing Notre Dame if we could marry the '09 defense with this year's offense.
Then again, if I was 6'4'', 230 pounds, had T-Mart's running ability and Andrew Luck's command of the game, I would be wondering what to do with the checks I would get every week with all those zeros on it! LOL.
I love "what if" discussions! We need more.

I think T-Mart is still a Heisman candidate next year despite a bad performence against Georgia. Where is the Georgia level defense on our schedule next year?

With McCarron coming back, isn't he a Heisman favorite as well next year?
