i dont buy the CSI stuff . i think he gave an immature entitled player all the rope he needed to hang himselfHaskins was supposed to be the guy. Fifteenth overall. Part of me thinks Ron wasn't calling timeouts early in the season because he wanted to lose so he could move on from Dwayne as quickly as possible.
There was some strange coaching calls early. Maybe he wasn't himself while worrying and going through the cancer treatments. That's fair skinsdad, a year later I am still trying to figure out why Ron was coaching the way he was coaching in Sept/Oct.
Not calling TOs, going for two in NY. I just don't understand it.
Yeah, I am not bitching. We all get so hung up on you have to have a No. 1 to be successful. That has been proved wrong over the years. But not to hijack the thread, we have a gunslinger journeyman and some Carolina dudes. I do like the approach we are taking. Build up everything around the QB, have a top 5 defense, until you find your guy.
If all of those things are still in place when they do find their guy, they will be legit SB contenders. Especially if Brady is done by then.
Russell could be in the AFC by then. Brees is gone.
I wanted Stafford, but was glad Ron showed restraint.
LIke @kbso83432 said, Haskins was the 15th overall choice and he failed (was a bad choice at the time, but most of us knew that). Josh Rosen was the 10th overall choice, but that doesn't make him any better than the BU on his 3rd team in 3 years (a road Haskins is headed down). I smell where you've coming from though--invest in talent or you just have to get lucky.Fitzpatrick - 7th round

Haskins actually got 2 chances to keep his job and blew them both. Probably should have went in the 4th. He has arm talent but i guess he's a spoiled brati dont buy the CSI stuff . i think he gave an immature entitled player all the rope he needed to hang himself

To that end, in the QB debate, you will hear this one--how many have ever won a SB?
--There have been 55 SBs so far
--only 32 QBs have ever won a SB
--Of the 32, 14 were top 10 picks, 15 if you include Big Ben at 11th overall
--12 of those 15 have won more than one SB
The Converse is also an interesting study--again, 55 SBs, but what about the losers?
--only 42 Qbs have ever lost a SB
--15 of the 42 (more than 1/3rd), were drafted in the top 10, 16 if you include Kilmer at 11th overall
--28 of the 42 losing QBs lost in their only SB and never made another one as a starter
--9 of those 28 Qbs who lost their only SB appearance, were drafted in the top 10 (including Kilmer at 11th)
--4 Qbs account for 13 (about 25%) of all SB losses (Tarkenton, Elway, Kelly, Brady)
That history says that about if you want a QB who can take you to the SB (let alone win), your best chance--by far and away--is in the top 10 picks in Rd 1, where about 50% of the SB winners are found.
I pray to God we haven't found ourselves on the 7-9, 8-8 hamster wheel.
Do you believe Snyder mandated that Haskins be made the starter?i dont buy the CSI stuff . i think he gave an immature entitled player all the rope he needed to hang himself

Here is a weird thought .... there are no more .500 teams without a tie.I pray to God we haven't found ourselves on the 7-9, 8-8 hamster wheel.
Yeah, I thought that early on after Haskins was benched. Still, that doesn't explain some of the coaching decisions far as not calling timeouts. And going for 2 was while Allen was QBing. Though I wasn't as broke up about going for 2, as much as I was about the play call. Be that as it may. If Snyder was pulling strings early on. I think RR is firmly in charge now n has been for a while.i think so
This is true. lolHere is a weird thought .... there are no more .500 teams without a tie.
Good points but you have to go back and look at how many 1st round failures there are. Or maybe a 6th rounder from Michigan and a 3rd rounder from Notre Dame who have won 11 SBs between them ... 20% of the SB wins.LIke @kbso83432 said, Haskins was the 15th overall choice and he failed (was a bad choice at the time, but most of us knew that).
