Sometimes you just have to ignore guys like omar. His life revolves around numbers. He does not enjoy the game, only the numbers a game produces. I'm not knocking his 'schtick'...it is what he does. He must get some enjoyment out of it, or else he wouldn't get so involved in it. In his mind (and calculator), he has the entire D'Backs season figured out...down to their runs scored, their final xFIP, their offenses' total BABIP and a dozen other indicators he claims are fool-proof indicators. The rest of us will just sit and wait to see how the season plays out. Maybe Yasmany Tomas figures out how to hit HRs and Nich Ahmed hits .300 during the season and not just in spring training. omar probably uses sabermetrics to figure out what his birthday presents will be! :)

He pitched with the flu apparently, must be a bug going around AZ spring training… (Mad Bum, Sonny Gray and a few others all dealing with it right now as well)

He better not give up a run his next 3 starts to make up for this shit! :tsk:
I thought Gray had food poisoning? totally different.

But good point about a bug going around the league right now. Apparently Posey was fighting it as well.

Ahh yeah, you're right about Gray. There was another pitcher that had his start pushed back due to the flu but I can't remember who.

Agreed. People who try to better understand the world around them are just assholes (and nerds)

No - not nerds and assholes....just tilting at windmills, omar. Look, I'll put it this way. I am a hell of a lot smarter than you guys (with age, experience, and learning comes all seeing knowledge).....and I am still a bit short of understanding everything on this planet. I'm close....but I might never make it. Sad, huh?

It's kind of funny that Iffy says to ignore me because I make predictions about baseball, and then three or four sentences later, makes statements of his own- saying Tomas will hit for power and Ahmed will hit .300. The only difference is my predictions are based in facts, while his are based on how's he feeling when he types. I also am able to recognize what numbers are important and which aren't. Even if Tomas slugs .450, he will still probably have an OBP around .300, limiting his value.

Did I predict Ahmed would hit .300? NO. I said maybe he would, as in a 'guess' or a wish. Just like your stats are "maybes". Except you won't admit to that, huh?

About to lose 2 of 3 at home to the Rockies

IMO, this is a team that desperately needs a good start to the season, otherwise i see them finishing right around 75-82 wins about like they do every season it seems

In just this first series i still see the same issues with that ballclub. Absolutely horrific starting pitching, the offense can be electric at times, or just gone the next. A lot of inconsistency that seems to just trouble that franchise for years now

Sure, they're all a maybe. But would you rather throw a die with 5 sides that are four and hope for a four, or a fair die and hope for a four? Actually, don't answer; I don't care what you think

Things that needed to go the D-Backs way just haven't happened. I was one of the few on here who liked their upside, but things like Corbin losing a tick and Miller suddenly being a bad pitcher weren't exactly things the D-Backs could afford. Then there's the whole Pollock bugaboo situation.

Yeah, maybe a little too high.....

Is he finished as a prospect? Already think he's done? lolol

Really don't understand the point of your post.

AZ has handled the whole OF situation horribly, should've never sent him down in the first place. Meanwhile, your awful prediction on the Segura-Hill trade is all I have to say to get you to shut up. Shall I bring that thread up again? Or are you going to gloat in the fact that AZ is struggling due to literally the entire team underperforming along with Pollock, Peralta and Rubby's injuries? Want some cake?

Yup, injuries to Pollock and now Peralta have diminished their OF. Goldy is heating up finally, but the rotation is a mess. No one would've EVER guessed Miller to fall off the earth this badly. Rubby is down now too… just a lost season.

Good news is their "window" is 3 years long and getting AJ back next year and with a little more luck they should be a lot more competitive. Reminds me of how the White Sox were built, made a couple splashes, didn't do well right away, but now look at least like a playoff contender. That's my prediction for AZ next year.
