For the record, I'm not predicting us to win the division, I have SF winning it. I think we'll compete for a WC spot though, and anyone writing us off before the season starts (for us) is just naive.
Oh that's just richTough blow but not a death nail. Most player projections for Diamondback players were on the low side, including Pollock & Goldschmidt. There is plenty of room to make up for Pollock's absence through Goldy just having a normal season & other guys just outplaying their low projections.
Anyone putting a fork in a team before one game is played, is re-freaking-tarded.
Seriously, the saber-nerds really are ruining baseball.

Probably because it's illogical and rooted in "emotions" and "gut-feelings"Not rich, just the truth. I can go in-depth if you like, but I have a feeling that you & others of your ilk will just dismiss it out of hand. So I won't bother.

I'm talking about distance in the postseason. Both have reached the NLCS in that time span. I know you think you're baseball royalty but calm down with the "I know everything" 'tude, bro.
Never said or insinuated that I was smarter than you. Just that any argument you make attacking "saber-nerds" as a whole would be subjective and not rooted in factsThere you go, the typical response. The "we are smarter" so you must be illogical. If the arrogance wasn't so sad, it would be hysterical.
Pretty sure the exact words I used were "Just as far" as in they have both reached the exact same pinnacle in that time span. I realize the Dodgers have more division titles. That's all I was saying. On the way home perhaps you should stop by SAMs club and pick up an industrial pack of vagisil. And I'm talking about consistency with success and I clarified that in my follow-up reply by stating the Dodgers consistency in their recent success relative to your team's. The sun shines on a dog's ass at least once a day, but if you show consistency, people tend to take teams more seriously. So since the DBacks WS in 2001, your team has made the playoffs in 2002, 2007, 2011. Conversely, the Dodgers have made the playoffs in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2014, and 2015. So if you are scoring at home, that's exactly 3 playoff appearances for ARZ to 7 for LA.
As far as baseball royalty...we're not?!? Shit, never knew. Thanks for the information. As far as my 'tude, that was like a -3 on my arrogant asshole scale. Me thinks you need to stop being such a sensitive bitch. There, I ramped it up a little for you.
I'm not saying it's mathematically impossible for them to make the playoffs. I'm saying their odds of making the playoffs are so small that I feel safe in betting they won't win it. Is it naive to "stick a fork" in the Phillies and Reds?
They don't have to be as bad as those teams to say they won't reach the playoffs. Neither 65 nor 75 (maaaaaybe 80) wins gets you into the playoffs, does it?No, but isn't it naive to lump the Dbacks in with those two teams?

I didn't think "stick a fork" meant that I'm giving them a literal 0% of making the playoffs. I'm just saying it's now very unlikely. If they make the playoffs, I'll commend them and admit I was wrong. But I doubt that day will ever come.Nope, those totals certainly would not get a team in. I'm just saying that "stick a fork in..." Is an expression to say that team is finished, they have no hope for the season.
I just don't see that with the Dbacks. Would I bet on them to make the playoffs? No, I wasn't even all in before Polluck got hurt. But they certainly have a shot. Shit, the twins were alive into the final weekend last year. Who saw that? This Dbacks team is better on paper than that Twins team entering opening day. And on paper the central was definitely stronger as well.
I'm just saying I understand where the Zona guys are coming from. Things look bleak, but we ain't asking for a miracle either.

Sure, I don't think they'll make the playoffs. Is it MATHEMATICALLY impossible? Of course not. But I do deem it highly unlikely. We'll have to see what happensYou said RIP Diamondbacks 2016 season.
Cmon man, don't play innocent or backtrack, lol.
