I'm not going to be surprised to see Puig back in September, hopefully able to hit fastballs.

But will he be willing to return to the Dodgers is the question

I don't think the Dodgers agree with any other teams' appraisal of his value, so I would be surprised to see him traded. I think he'll go out on waivers, get claimed, and then stay in Dodger blue.

Most likely but I mean he did walk out on the team (if reports are accurate) so would he really "play" for them if he remains with the club?

Go back a few posts and read Ken Rosenthal's apology.

The reports out of LaLaLand is that its not just his lack of production that was the reason for the demotion, but the grating personality, shitty behavior (see Opening Day, late), his hotheadedness, bullheaded stubbornness, and his unwillingness to be coachable. Had it been his average at best offensive production only in question, he would still be in The Show.

Villain, I have no idea what value you believe the Dodgers see him to have, but all things considered, I think it has more to do with other teams putting two and two together and realizing that Puig is the baseball equivalent of Terrell Owens, where you put up with the stupidity until the production no longer outweighs the headache...and that time to cut losses is now. The only saving grace that Puig has is that he is young.

Remember, this is the same guy who Kershaw told the FO he wanted off the team last off-season, according to Andy Van Slyke...and Kershaw never denied saying it. This is a guy who for almost 4 years, was unwilling to hit a cut-off man, run out grounders, etc.

In other words, color me shocked.

If Puig hit .330 and was a perennial threat for the Triple Crown a la Manny, then he would still be on the roster. But you can't SUCK BALLS and still do that stuff and expect to continue to be on the team.

Yet Manny still did all the things Puig did as well

I had read that Mark McGwire, while batting coach with L.A., had seen some things in Puig's stance and swing he felt was hurting Puig at the plate. The story went on to state that Puig basically ignored McGwire and more or less let McGwire know that his opinion was not needed or wanted.

McGwire was the one who chewed Puig out for blowing off Luis Gonzalez when he tried to chat before a game.
"Beeg gingero gringo holler at mee! Mee put habanero een hees Preparation H."

I got a kick out of the pronunciation of Puig's name when he first came up because it reminded me of how everybody called a former coworker I used to hate "pwee". I finally asked what it meant and was told "Prick With Ears", PWE...he was a little guy with a big, shiny bald head and prominent ears. Guess Puig is a PWA, Prick With Attitude.

Yup, and even though Manny was arguably the game's best right handed hitter for over a decade, he still found his way out the door of multiple organizations who could only stomach his bullshit for so long. The difference is the threshold of bullshit relative to production, which in Puig's case, doesn't bode well for him sticking to an organization until/unless he decides to recognize that his stubbornness is only hurting him.

Yes he did, that's what they are saying. If Puig produced like Manny he'd be treated like him, tolerated and hitting 3rd. In 2013 Puig looked like that kind of player, now he looks like a bust.
