But, at some point it has to stop being Sportscenter’s fault.

That line made me lose respect for one of the few people I had any for at ESPN.

Does covering bowling and the hot asian chick that shoots pool really make that much money for ESpeon?

Bucci is the only individual that talks puck with any real knowledge in Bristol, but I question how much he is toeing the company line in that interview, instead of saying what he really wants to say.

Exactly. I keep hoping him, Melrose, and Levy jump ships to VS or NHL Network, but I doubt it'll happen.

In the past it's seemed that Bucci isn't afraid to speak his mind, even about ESPN. I wonder if the disappearance of his online bloglumn at the Mickey Mouse website has anything to do with him sidestepping that question.

On the other hand, I haven't watched SportsCenter in probably ten years, so I don't know what the hell they do on that show. Maybe Bucci's right, or at least being honest with his assessment of the program. Do they show a lot of pool and bowling, at least in comparison to NHL highlights?

That was a good find, Tilo. Glad u posted it. :)

And I agree, would love to see Bucci leave the Peon... but that ain't gonna happen. They have a cash-cow there that rivals any and all. I give props to a guy like Dan Patrick for leaving them when he did. Although, I don't really know why he did it. I just respect him for leaving something that is so wildly successful, and could have made him even more coin.

They show more bowling in one month than they show hockey for an entire year. Obviously, the tv contract dictates that. It just makes me laugh that they promote something like bowling or pool while they say hockey is a niche sport, and not a product they could see growing an audience with.

the only time of year I watch SC is during football season. They dedicate vast amounts of time and energy into reporting on the game, even if it's biased information, they usually have a ton of it. 3/4 of the rest of the calendar year, sportscenter is mostly unwatchable for me.

I'm not a football fan so SC is pretty much always unwatchable to me

And for that he should be fighting, loudly, for more hockey coverage. Not following the company line and being a gnome
