Terrell Davis was an amazing back who played in a system that perfectly suited him. His 3 years from 1996-1998 were definitely elite, I don't count his 1995 year cause even though it was really good, it isn't anything that hasn't been achieved by plenty of plain jane backs, just not at the level when talking about elite level backs. The injury sucks, and there could be an argument that he should have had a better career had it not happened, but then there's also something to be said that taking that many hits, he was bound to have a serious injury and that's exactly what happened (He averaged 400 touches a year from 96-98). Because of his injury, it takes him out of the conversation of all time greats, and if by saying Seahawk fans think he's overrated because some call him an all time great, then I agree that he's overrated. But to say he wasn't any good at all is just wrong as well.

Davis was a top 3 running back for 3 years, as Seahawk fans well know (7 career 100 yard games and over 1000 career yards in 9 games against Seattle). But as far as all time status goes, his tenure at the top was just too short to compensate for not being in the league for very long.

As for individual seasons, I'd rank Davis' '98 season at #9, here's what I think are the best seasons at RB:

1963 Jim Brown
2006 LaDanian Tomlinson
1983 Eric Dickerson
1977 Walter Payton
1999 Marshall Faulk
1985 Roger Craig
1995 Emmitt Smith
2002 Priest Holmes
1998 Terrell Davis
2005 Shaun Alexander
