by design IMO.. i think bryz wants bought out more than the fans want him bought out

I feel for the guy. I think he loves that team, but just hates the stuff that comes with it. That said, Bryz: you better go back to some team that has no fanbase, because that's your chance at success. OR grow some thick skin.

i feel for him too.. everything he says gets taken as badly as it possibly could be and he's watched every second of every game and practice, so if he yawns, like a completely normal human being, he's ripped apart.

he's a real serious distraction because of that though and his play doesn't warrant keeping such a distraction. let alone his garbage contract.

Yeah, it's gotta be terrible getting paid oodles of money to stop the puck (or in Bryz's case not stop it). Then when things turn a little sour, you blame the media. Cry me a river Bryz, the guy is a flake.

haha, while i agreed w/ pix and 'feel for him'.. thats a relative scale based on atheletes. in terms of the game of life, he's still kickin my ass up and down the street so he gets 0 pity.

Even if he has been a disappointment, he is correct. It just so happens that Bryzgalov is the guy that has the stones to call out our horrific media.

Yeah, the Philly media can be tough, no doubt about it, but Bryz wasn't a wet-behind-the-ears rookie when he decided to sign with Philly either. If he didn't want to be in the spotlight/scutinized, maybe he should have re-signed in Phoenix or with a different NHL team.

To put it to rest - Bryzgalov on Stalin:

All journalists try to interview you. And is there a person who you would like to talk to?

“A lot of them are not alive anymore… I would love to talk to Genghis Khan, Stalin, Einstein.”

Stalin is a very controversial figure. How do you feel about him?

“Positive. I see logic in his action. Not without going too far, of course. But he came to power in a country that had just lived through a revolution. There were so many spies, enemies, traitors there. A lot of people still had guns after the civil war. The country was in ruins, [people] needed to survive somehow. The country needed to be rebuilt, and in order to do that it needed to be held in iron hands. Then WWII began. A lot of people came back from that war with guns as well. There was devastation all around, the country had to be rebuilt, had to be able to defend itself. There were so many criminals.”

Stalin took Russia in with a wooden plow and left it with nuclear weapons.

“Yes, he knew what he was doing. He is described as a ‘bloody tyrant.’ But at the time it couldn’t be any other way. Yes, there were innocent people who were victims of repressions… But it happens. Not long ago in the US a person was released from prison, who spent 45 years there. It turned out he was innocent. Can you imagine, a person spent his entire life in jail for something he didn’t do.”

I remember Bobby Hull said something along the same lines regarding Hitler: "He had some good ideas, he just took them a little too far"
