Lightning acquire Anders Lindback from Nashville for picks. There goes a potential Gillis trading partner.

mirtle
Full trade: Nashville gets two second-round picks, a third-round pick and Caron. Tampa gets Lindback, Kyle Wilson and seventh-rounder.

I like the move. UTV makes a good point about Lindback having a rough year, which made it a perfect opportunity for Stevey Y to pounce. If he develops into a top-15 guy in the league, we'll look back at this as a steal.

Agreed. Low risk/medium-reward in my opinion. And as a person who enjoys following the careers of Pens from the dark ages: Caron!

Fair trade, if Lindback turns out to be a decent stopgap in net for Tampa. A absolute steal if he ends up being as good as advertised, but goalies are such a crapshoot.

I'm surprised with the return Nashville got. Yzerman must belive Lindback is a true #1 goalie. I never thought Tampa was interested in Luongo.

I wouldn't give up much for Luongo. His contract is far too long for his age & too much money.

so... within 5 days of winning the Calder trophy, Tokarski has fallen two places on TB's depth chart.
- Lindback today
- Riku Helenius signs 2 year contract yesterday

I guess the asking price for Bernier was through the roof. :/

I like all 3 points made there. I believe Lindback was 5-8 with a 2.42 GAA, .912 SV% this past year. Not bad for a young back-up. IMO the risk/reward makes the deal worth it. 6'7"......YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!

Lindback was a pretty big prospect, no? Could be big for him to get out from behind Rinne.

Every year Tampa leaves Tokarski in the minors is a year they're pushing back an inevitable Stanley Cup win. Tokarski has backstopped Telus Cup, WHL, Memorial Cup, World Junior and Calder Cup championships. He's gonna get a Stanley Cup. It's just a matter of when.

I understand the value of having a solid back up, and that Bernier is obviously worth a bunch to the right suitor, but...I mean, your goalie has become a Vezina candidate, Conn Smythe winning, franchise back stop. So, if you get a *decent* deal, you move him. It seems just fair to him too.

Agreed. Bernier's age would be a very big factor in how much value is needed.
