In the past 10 seasons, there's been 19 preseason AP Top 10 teams finish the year unranked, including 3 last season (shame on you Auburn, Miami and Wisconsin). That's basically 2 per season. So predict the teams not to make this year. Next, predict the teams in the top 10 that will make the CFP. Keep in mind, you don't have to pick 2 and 4 teams, just pick the teams you think will fall in both those categories.

You are right; Ohio State, Michigan State, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Washington would never be able to make the playoffs with one loss.

I don't think we'll land outside the top 25 with all the talent we have, but IF Fields gets injured, and Day just absolutely sucks as a HC (don't think he will, but it's an unknown), we possibly could.

Assuming Fields stays healthy, I think we only lose 2, max, though.

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or not.

Most likely there will be multiple one loss teams in the playoff, but there will likely be 1 loss teams on the outside looking in. Bama seems to be the only one that can get a pass on their first loss. I'm not knocking it either-alot of times the debate is about whose 4th or 5th and historically they've shown that they can compete at that level whereas others haven't. I kinda want to put Clemson at that level but they don't have the schedule to afford a loss and be comfortable that they get a pass on it.
