Just reported that Jim Tomsula will be the next HC of the Niners, meaning the reported front runner, Adam Gase, is still looking for a job. Obviously, he will interview for the Broncos HC gig but he would be a HUGE pickup as OC.

im half torn on gase because of his former qb....

but if he is smart can't hurt us right?

I could definitely see Gase going for either the Falcons or Broncos job if he is serious about wanting to be a head coach. If I were him, I'd lean towards Atlanta, especially since Manning might call it quits and could lose one or both of the Thomas'. Atlanta has a solid QB and two good WRs and mainly just needs some defense. Both are teams that aren't that far off from being serious contenders I believe. I think Chicago is probably a bit farther off than those 2 from being contenders and would be a harder situation than those two, especially with having to try to surpass Green Bay, Detroit and Minnesota.

Definitely agree about him being a great pickup if he wants to be an OC somewhere else. Though I think that Shannahan would probably be higher on Fisher's list than him but could definitely be wrong on that.

I would not mind at all if Gase signed with the Rams as OC but he'd have to get along with Fisher.

:L

I understand though as Pat Shurmur was the best OC's that Sam Bradford has had in his short tenure of games played.

I don't think he's that bad of an OC. He's a hell of a lot better than Schitty ever was and Bradford seemed to grasp his system rather quickly.

The Rams have to be the worst OC opening in the NFL. No one wants this job. book it.

You all have forgotten that Linehan and Shurmur were the originators of the dink and dunk offense. That ridiculous offense that just was futile. Sure Sammie did well in it. He seldom had to throw the deep ball.

If that's the case, then this Org is still planning everything around Sam Bradford and that's pretty stupid since the guy can't stay healthy.

I don't see Gase coming unless Manning retires.

Vita,

He is going to interview for the Broncos head coaching job as well, but I think Kubiak will get that job.

Kubiak stated a week ago that he wasn't leaving the Ravens.

Though this time last week, nobody expected for the Denver job to open up pretty much immediately after their loss to Indy.

ANNNNNNNNND... Kubiak announced as Broncos HC. Gase,Rob Chudzinski and Brad Van Pelt are the final external candidates for the Rams OC position. Personally, I would like Chudz of the three but any of them are MILES ahead of Shotty...

I see Gase being the guy but you are right Commish, all three are light years ahead of Schottenheimer.
