I really think it is all a natural progression with a new twist. The last two sales of teams were Carolina which was approx. 1/3 of what Harris is paying and Denver which was almost $2 billion less. Both owners had the money .... Bezos would have but I am fine with the Harris/Rales/Magic group. The owners are not used to dealing with so many limited partners but I think because teams cost so much this is the new normal.

Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys for $140 million. How much are they worth now? Snyder paid $800 million and is walking away with $6 billion and he sucked as an owner. That is a lot of money for a guy that was a failed owner. Steelers, Raiders, Cardinals, Colts and Giants were willed to family.

My gut is we are stuck with Commanders.

Not sure why they mentioned Army/Air Force had something to do with Commander since to my knowledge that is a Navy/Coast Guard rank.

I think there is a Wing commander over a squadron in the air force. It is a navy rank for sure. My father was in line for a promotion for lieutenant commander but he retired. I don't recall the branch of service you were in so I am sure you know more about this than I do.

If we were doing the military theme, I liked admirals due to Annapolis being so close. There again, it sounds arena footballish to me but that is my opinion.

I think there are a lot of possibilities with logos and the uniform with admirals.

Out of the options, I liked Red Wolves, but then it got eliminated for some reason. Admirals does sound like a High School team name, however, I thought the other names (finalists) were bad as well IMO. Warriors or Braves would have been good. Seems like it was doomed from the get go it appears.

I wonder what % of the fans honestly are ok with Commanders??

I still liked Red Tails but that was NEVER going to happen for a million reasons. Very much a shame considering that the actual Red Tails society gave its blessing.

I feel the same way. Sheehan had the guy that reported the need change in the way the Harris Group is financing the sale and said they will change it. No way the owners are going to let this opportunity to get Dan out fail.
