Yes .... Coach Spurrier's GM skills or Vinny's were not that good. Who was the running back they got from the St. Louis Rams that sucked.
Trung candidate!!!!

I thought he was going to be a stud.

He was supposed to be Marshall Faulk 2.0. Mike Martz loved him.

For years Redskins vs. Cowboys was cool ... since the name change not so much.

This the uniform I loved and would love to see with a name like Warriors or Renegades is the 70th year anniversary jersey

Team 980 and 106.7 the Fan have been on the radio all night covering this. The sale could be official in a couple of weeks or take as long as July. It is a done deal now though .... the league wants Dan gone.

At one point i remember the wr corps had reidel Anthony, Jacques green, and Chris doering...lol

Hopefully my buddy chiller is enjoying a cold one somewhere. He has been here on the board for a long time. He is as loyal as they come.

Yup! Enjoyed yesterday‘s news immensely, but was out for the evening.

Been on this and ESPN’s board for a long long time, and haven’t been this hopeful for change since Gibbs 2.0 was first announced. I’m not buying any Commanders gear or going to games yet though. Wanna see what moves Harris and Co make first.
A great day though.

So @RapSheet says he talked to somebody connected to the Harris group that says name change isn’t something that’s on the table.

I think fans want assurance that the team will keep the "Commanders" name before they buy new gear. Will the new owner be allowed to change the uniforms? or do they have to wait 5 years?

Why? It would be worth more to have the one year team gear.

True, but then you would have to buy more gear b/c of a name change. Did you buy Washinton Football team gear?

I bought Commanders gear pretty early on as I love the logo and colors. As previously stated, I got a cap, t-shirt, and hoodie.

If they change their name again under Harris, I will buy the gear again.

Just to refute the ridiculous accusation that I am "not" a fan of this team by one of our posters....

If a fan wants to buy Commanders gear, great! If they don't want to buy it, great! I see both sides of the issue and pass no judgement either way.

I have been reading that they don't think owners will vote in late May 2023 on the sale. Do we know what would hold up such a vote?

If the NFL's finance committee checks out the finances and gives it the green light, why would owners hesitate on voting for it? I can only think of:

1. They are loyal to Snyder and don't want to see him gone
2. They do NOT trust Harris and the ownership group
3. They abstain from voting like Al Davis used to
4. They want to drag out the process as long as possible
5. The owners want their own organizations to view the financials of the deal and approve it before they vote
6. The NFL financial body is concerned about the deal and following some outdated regulations

To me, 1-3 literally make no sense and 4 seems strange to me. 5 doesn't seem right either as it would be absurd for 31 owners to have their own finance teams review and analyze the deal. Yes, ownership changes take time and it should. That being said, this has been going on since November 2023, the current owner has selected a new owner, and the NFL finance committee has reviewed the financial details of the sale. I am only guessing that the NFL itself is following outdated or traditional protocols and stalling here.

I would assume the owners would vote today if they could but the NFL front office is taking some unnecessary time to review the proposal once again or something else is holding it. There is no reason why the vote should not take place in May.
