Eh, we've got the second longest active bowl streak going. Easy to make up ground that way. I'd trade it all for a run like Nebraska had in the 90's though.

Second most bowl games ever. Only two natties to show for it. I wasn't alive for either.

Apparently they did not have every right to sell them or else the NCAA wouldn’t have hit them with sanctions. That’s like saying the Ohio State players have every right to trade their gold pants for free tattoos.

It’s the same as selling the limited edition shoes that some players are given in different sports. Unless of course you are saying players should now have to pay for their books.

Nobody sold anything. They gave the vouchers to friends. It’s clearly a violation of university policy, but it’s a big stretch to argue it proffered any competitive advantage.

I gathered the first part as sarcasm, but I have heard lots of people argue they should be able to sell their own stuff.
Ahh I figure most of these kids sell their own stuff anyway, hell they do all kinds of shit that doesn't make any sense

The flip side of this...my dad was alive and old enough to remember all of the Bryant years, and now is witnessing Saban's run

Fair Enough, but it hurts a lot to see such a crazy fall from Callahan to Pelini to Riley... if it wasn't for those since 2004, Nebraska would have gone bowling every year since the 60's. Frost can't come with this turn around quick enough.

Bo Pelini made sure the grades were good, so Nebraska had the highest APR in Mike Riley's first year of suckage.

PS: Nebraska won the bowl game over UCLA.
Well aware, just was messing. Pretty sure UCLA beat Nebraska soundly during the season right? Either way just goes to show how difficult it is to beat a team twice in the same year.

Edit: looked it up, bowl game was in 2015 regular season matchup was 2013. Thought I remembered it being the same year.

In what? Hockey??
well since your counting your 1920's titles

1915, 1916, 1918, 1929, 1931, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1976)

The University of Pittsburgh claims nine National Championships: 1915, 1916, 1918, 1929, 1931, 1934, 1936, 1937, and 1976[4] out of a total of 12 seasons[n 4] that it has been selected as a national champion by a "major selector" as determined by the Official NCAA Records Book[156] and out of 16 seasons that it has been named the National Champion by at least one selector according to research by the College Football Data Warehouse.[30]

yeah back then it depends who was proclaiming national champs
I'm pretty sure high school newsletters could announce a national champ and whatever school it was would claim it

This stat is meaningless. The Big Ten only allowed the conference champ in a bowl game up until 1975 and also did not allow a repeat Rose Bowl participant. Also, Notre Dame did not choose to play in a bowl game for a long period of time. But, if you want to jack each other off over a meaningless stat go ahead losers.

So do you agree that Ohio State did not get a competitive advantage with free tattoos?

Of course. Those vacated wins were asinine as hell.

My beef in general is how capricious they have been regarding vacated wins and forfeits. Both of those cases were complete bullshit in that regard. Like I said, fuck Myles Brand.

Stop cheating and they won’t be vacated.

I'd have been fucked in that case, because where I come from that's just being frugal.

Get over yourself titty baby. It's a meaningless thing to talk about, nothing more.
