also, here is a huge thing in my mind that happened before the game even started.

Nebraska Won the Coin Toss and deferred. Why is this significant you ask? We chose to go into the wind in the 1Q. Why would you do that? Why? you make them go against the wind in the 1Q, then when we had an opportunity for 2 FGs, we have the wind at our backs. instead, we couldn't even kick them because we chose to fucking go into the wind in the 1Q.

If I recall correctly, three drives starting in Sparty territory in first half resulting in zero points. Whats up with that? First possession after INT should have set tone with a score, instead they gain 1 yard on three plays. Then punt cause they don't know how to select direction they will go to start game. That is an issue. as pointed out

It's commonly referred to as "Good defense."

How many times did Mike Rozier fumble a game away?

Im too young to know

I could be wrong about this, but I seem to remember him fumbling against Iowa in 1981. That whole game Nebraska was being pushed around by Iowa in the trenches. If he did fumble, I don't think he actually fumbled the game away though. Iowa won that game 10-7.

Also, that was a couple of games before Gill was given the chance to play. I think Gill's first chance to play was against Auburn in 1981. Nebraska won that by 17-3.

Apologies

He's a GREAT player who didn't get any help with some terrible play calling.

did anyone comment on field conditions? Just curious if you think the wet surface or the grass was a more hindering factor.

People keep blaming the grass, but I'd think the slick field would have been more hindering for AA, with the way he likes to cut.

also, Nebraska still has a natural grass practice field don't they?

It was a football game, played by both teams, in the same weather, on the same field.

i can not read your posts right now with that avatar. it really disturbs me.

I was just curious if that was something that would hurt AA or not. i understand both teams had to deal with it, but the defense isn't the one trying to make cuts, they are trying to tackle that guy, so the inability to make those cuts would certainly benefit the defense.

The thing that hurt more than anything else was Beck. Middle of the field was wide open all night long with how the LBs were filling. Unless there is no one willing to run a route over the middle. Could have hit that for 10-15 yards until the D started respecting that and then the running lanes would have opened up.

A QB is needed who has the ability to consistently complete those passes. Fyfe maybe? He did help drive the team to it's first TD.

how do you know Tommy can't hit it? honestly through 6 games, I hardly ever remember any 10-15 yd middle of the field crossing routes.

We have a bye week, Tommy should work all week on looking at all his progressions. There's got to be some drill that helps a QB look through his progressions. It's not like it takes 10 seconds to look at each one. He should know exactly where every receiver is on every pass play and be able to look through them all in a second. that's what a good QB does, Tommy needs to really step it up and get to that point.

How much of the problem (passing) was wind Saturday night? Haven't heard much about it but wasn't it supposed to be pretty strong? You get some good gusts swirling around in a bowl and it can reek havoc.

I know TA has his issues with not going through his progressions but nobody out there had a good completion percentage. Hell Cook with his 70% ratio went 11 of 29, that's under 40%.

Yeah we got pressure on him, but how much effect did the weather have?

after watching the game again we left alot of points or chances for points in the first half. just fg would have done the trick or even 1 td.

the disappointed thing about the game was neb looked scared offense wise... beck didn't help and neither did the OL
